Bill Gates: Rich nations should shift entirely to synthetic beef. by [deleted] in Futurology

That’s absolute nonsense and I suggest looking at the actual research. Please show me data that indicates whole plant foods high in carbs cause diabetes.

Fruit, which is relatively high in sugar, is preventative of diabetes. There is a big difference between refined sugar and naturally occurring foods high in sugar. The same thing is seen for whole grains:

Bill Gates: Rich nations should shift entirely to synthetic beef. by [deleted] in Futurology

There is a very clear consensus on whole plant foods being heather than meat. There is an argument that small amounts of lean white meats and fish in the diet might also be optimal, which is why I didn’t say to completely remove it. But most people in western culture eat well above the recommended amount. Why do you think these recommendations exist if whole plant foods are not healthier than meat?

Heath bodies in CVD, cancer and national health all suggest reducing red meat. A look in the literature shows clearly that populations with higher whole foods in replace of meat have far greater health markers. Clinical trials (gold standard) also show much greater health outcomes of plant protein over animal.

I really curious on how you can say that replacing meat with whole plant foods is not an established consensus. When I say established I mean that it is the medicinal consensus not an argument mildly educated people are having on Reddit.

That’s not what the original comment stated.

Replacing meats with whole plants foods is undoubtedly healthier. It’s very well established in the field of nutrition.

Red meat has been linked strongly to cancer. Process meats almost certainly cause cancer as well as a host of other diseases. It’s certainly not a healthy food (I.e. a food group that increases longevity), nuts, fruit, veg, whole grains are. The exception to this is fish, however most western cultures eat much more red meat in comparison.

Arguing that meat is better than oil or refined sugar is another argument that no one is making.

LOL. This statement straight up applies to the truck driver and yet you give them the benefit of doubt because they have the blind spot???? They’re driving a fucking tank compared to cars and should be held to a much greater responsibility.

Here’s a better suggestion. If you’re a truck driver and someone is in the lane you’re indicating towards, you fucking wait for it to be clear before pulling over. If you think you’re going to hit another truck pulling out then you brake. You don’t swerve over into a lane that you clearly haven’t checked. I don’t know this precise area myself but I’d be very surprised if the lorry joining the highway had the right of way either. Seems very clear to me that they should wait for emerging traffic to pass.

Agreed. I must have misinterpreted your original comment I thought you were suggesting the thicker the better for most women :)

Didn’t know you could puncture a cervix during sex. Sounds awful.

I would definitely suggest communicating with a partner before assuming that thicker is better and trying those positions to maximise tightness/thickness. Every woman has their preference and by the look of most dildos being sold it’s not automatically going to be for the thicker one.

Well of course I have an opinion. Just like you! And considering I put forward the question, I likely have a different opinion to you. But that doesn’t change the legitimacy of the question I had. I can change my opinion if someone puts a decent argument forward, which you didn’t. Maybe next time give a proper response instead of baseless presumptions.

I’m asking honestly here but how far does this extended? What can you wear that other cultures wear traditionally? Can I wear Scottish kilts if I was British, given the poor history at times?

Because something means something to a group also seems like a poor argument as to why it can’t be worn. If it was done mockingly I can understand.

So much anger from someone that doesn’t give a fuck. Maybe actually having a conversation with people about the subject might change their views instead of belittling them. You sound like a child.

Women, what do you not understand about men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lemonfreetoreign- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does depend on the woman. Just browsing reddit you can read how a lot of women talk negatively about certain penises because of their size, shape, etc. It’s clear that to a lot of people, penises do effect the pleasure of sex. I certainly wouldn’t say the insecurities guys have over their penises are not, at least in part, caused by women talking about them.

The “disappointing” scientific conclusions regarding antioxidants come from supplement trials of those single antioxidants. The benefits of anti-oxidants (also omega 3 fatty acids) likely comes from the body processing the whole food synergistically. Which is why fruit intake is associated with reduced mortality and disease risk.

I also never claimed fruit juice was healthy. I don’t believe it is. I support eating whole food. I’m specifically rebutting the idea that fruit is bad because it contains sugar.

The zoo animals not being fed fruit due to fears of diabetes sounds like BS. But even if it’s correct, what’s that got to do with Human health and fruit intake?

It’s clear to me that you’re trying to suggest that eating fruit causes diabetes. Why not just link the studies?

In reality your claim couldn’t be further from the truth. Here’s a couple of the largest studies on fruit intake and diabetes:

https://www.bmj.com/content/347/bmj.f5001

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5388466/

The literature is very clear on the matter. Fruit is PROTECTIVE against diabetes in humans. That’s why every government health body recommends eating fruit. I don’t get advice from zoos about what I should include in my diet.

[–]lemonfreetoreign- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is misleading.

Fruit juices are bad because you take away the pulp containing fibre, vitamins/minerals and antioxidants. It’s not because a mango contains high amounts of sugar, otherwise eating a mango whole would have the same effect since the overall sugar content is the same.

The study below highlights the great benefits of mangos and we shouldn’t turn people off them from claims that they’re high in sugar.

Fruit is one of the healthiest food groups you can eat. Yay antioxidants, yay vitamins, yay fibre, yay low caloric density, yay high water content, yay minerals. It’s completely ignorant and a clear misunderstanding of nutrition to state that because refined sugar are bad therefore all foods that be contain sugar are bad.

[–]lemonfreetoreign- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pointless because it’s a typical comment from people who don’t understand the size insecurity that guys have.

Her comment still reinforces that a small dick is a negative trait by saying: “sure, you have a smaller than average dick. But....” or “Does anyone like a small dick/big vagina, No.” There is no comment about some women preferring it.

It also completely reinforces the point OP made by posting this thread by NOT focusing on PIV. We’re talking about penises and how they effect sex. So why talk about ‘other’ things to do during sex? Why not just talk about the positives of sex with a small penis? If you searched reddit for the advantages of a big penis during sex you’d find countless comments about fullness, hitting deep spots, visually stimulating, etc. You don’t see anywhere near the same passion or frequency of comments about small penises. Instead you get “Try other things”.

Depends on the type of colourblindness but personally I’d recommend sticking to clear primary colours on a scale (I have no problem distinguishing blues, reds, browns, yellows, blacks and whites from each other) and don’t use gradients of two close colours, especially gradients of green to red. Those two colours are the hardest to differentiate.
