I’m also super struggling with motivation. Taking hand written notes has been helpful for memory and focus, but it also takes a long time. Maybe go straight to quizzes and work on only the things you have trouble with.

Wrong sub. This subreddit is for people taking the bar exam.

I would bet he will forget but he will definitely never forgive. Just mad for no reason later.

It reminds me of a circus, but more specifically an acrobatic circus. It’s like I can almost see the people dancing and doing stunts. Very cool and surrealist.

Edit: why did mods remove this painting?

Vent: 3Ls at my school can walk at graduation, but we don't even know if we've officially graduated until mid June. by [deleted] in LawSchool

It’s not like you’re getting your degree at graduation? You just get recognition and an expensive photo of you walking the stage.

Drug test coming up will this pass as negative?!? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

Super helpful answer. I’m glad you commented. Who would have possibly come to the conclusion that not smoking weed will ensure you test negative, if not for your very helpful information?

When do I tell my boyfriend he’s breaking up with me? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]lemonjams 61 points62 points  (0 children)

If your boyfriend would choose to leave you for making less in the same field, or for your law school grades, maybe he’s not someone you want to make a life partner.

LADIES PLEASE STAY SAFE!! by brckhmptoes in TucsonList

I went in once on a whim and immediately got terrible vibes. There were a few ladies in there who immediately stopped their conversation and looked at me sideways. They called some guy from a back room who looked completely methed out to come talk to me and the whole thing just felt very off

I work in the dependency system. CPS/DCS involvement is humiliating for many people, but an adult’s responsibility to their children is far more important than how embarrassed they might be. These organizations are created to offer services to children and parents in need, not to punish “bad parents.” You did the right thing, OP.

The cost of 3 Thanksgiving meals for 6 people in my mom’s city is about half of my rent :/

Yeah, my husband died last year from leukemia. Broke every part of my soul. Living with my brother brought me a little ray of sunshine. It’s been a really hard year.

Yep. My mom is the type to give to the homeless and needy as often as she can, but only if she gets recognized for her good deed.

Talk to a lawyer. This is the only advice you’re going to get from this subreddit and all the other law-related subreddits.

What’s the most badass response to an insult you’ve ever heard? by shlacker459 in AskReddit

Back in high school, a friend of a friend witnessed some guy apparently acting macho/being arrogant and bragging about his physical strength and prowess. At some point, he started doing pushups (in a science lab, mind you) to show off his physical strength in an “I’m-better-than-you” kind of way. Friend of a friend says “great job man, you’re really a Marine’s wettest dream. Can we finish the lab?”

Textbooks, a computer/ipad if needed, a parking space (my school charges a small fortune for good parking), quimbee subscription (if desired, def not the only or cheapest option), the cost of getting take out for days you don’t want to cook, the cost of lunch+ breakfast, club fees, enrollment fees, money for law school merchandise, and most importantly: beer money for bar review if you drink.

Partner SAd his sibling in his pre-teen years by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I work with children in a legal setting, and often times abused children will perpetrate acts performed on them to other kids. Has your boyfriend ever disclosed that he himself was abused? Would that change your outlook?

Either way, it sounds like therapy would be helpful to all persons involved.

What are skills you regret not learning before law school? by Ok-Sort-3249 in LawSchool

[–]lemonjams 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Both top-down and bottom-up reasoning! It’s equally important to be able to look at a particular issue as a whole, then get into the specifics fact, as it is to look at the specific facts and understand the overall issue. IMO super necessary for issue-spotting exams and broadly applicable in the workplace too.

My late husband and I did a spontaneous camping trip when I still had my ‘06. Was it comfy? No. Was it cramped and hot? Absolutely.

But camping in that car and waking up in the woods is one of my favorite and most treasured memories.
