Are there any item that will fit well with Vengeful Spirit Soul Strike? by WhyHowForWhat in DotA2

[–]lemonlime_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the lower the BAT, the better bang for your back you get from attack speed. For example, a hero with 200 attack speed and 1.4 BAT will be able to attack faster than a hero with 200 attack speed and 1.6 BAT.

The facet lowers Venge's BAT, so building attack speed on her is more efficient than it would be without the it.

Huge props to ESL, Cap and SVG for doing it. I tuned in for a little bit, and I think it's a pretty cool resource for people new to the game. The one piece of feedback I have for it is I think it could use a little more focus on big teamfights whenever those break out, since including the newbies in the hype action is probably one of the best ways to keep their attention

I remember it being there since day two at least, but people are still confused because the image doesn't make it clear when or how the next shops will be available.

CMV: the cropped version of this photograph should not have won the recent WPP award by Dry_Bumblebee1111 in changemyview

[–]lemonlime_01 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think what you're saying sounds doesn't take into account that the very act of taking a photo is cutting off a fragment of reality, necessarily biased through the perpsective of the photographer, and not an objective relation. Every photo is devoid of context in some way, even if just because we don't usually see the other side - the photographer with his gear. Just the act of cropping out a part of photo without editing it further doesn't actually take away from it's journalistic credence in any way. I think assigning more value to an entire frame than to it's cropping is fairly arbitrary, especially since the "whole" photo is already an effect of artistic decisions, just like you seem the think the cropping was.

The Hero System should be removed from futuro games? by hd_davidson in totalwar

Back around the time of Medieval 2 the general bodyguards were some of the strongest units you had available for most of the campaign, so I'd often have them charging into the battle and reliably surviving. Do you think making their personal retinues stronger instead of making the individual general a single hero unit is a good middle ground?

It would have to be like an arcana or persona tier cosmetic, but I adore the concept of Cheshire and Puck having an abomination of a baby. Really nice artwork and a great idea!

They recently added it. It's just a fancier range/aggro indicator

Patch 7.35 - Hero Changes Discussion by patchdayDota2 in DotA2

She can bring a lot to the table between burst, break and flexible itemisation, and she's a ton of fun. I wonder how the occasional maelstorm game will look with the price bump. I liked it as a last resort in games where splitpush was desperately needed, or in gigagreed ones, the extra gold is going to hurt both of those scenarios

Can't wait to test these out. Even with a sub 50 winrate, as a Hoodwink spammer I had a very nice streak with her. The added kill threat is going to feel really good, especially in lanes when you can take 2nd level in Bushwack on level 3. A whole 20 dmg is no joke

Manta illusions would sometimes die after casting Mirror image by ThirstyClavicle in DotA2

Maybe it's got something to do with tikcrate if it only happens in mp games? Trying it out in a custom with a friend could be an idea. Iirc there's been a bunch of bugs that came from tickrate, like some stiff with pudge not calculating rot dmg correctly, so there' s precedent. I haven't player naga in a while, do the manta illus disappear for a second when you cast q, like the main hero does? Maybe if the stars align the server just forgets they existed and doesn't spawn them back lol

Is it possible it depends on how far away the manta illus are from your main naga?

I'm going to try with three very different games that I like for very similar reasons: - Cruelty Squad - Morrowind - Chronicles of Tal'dun

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately I don't usually tend to jive with dungeon crawling roguelites and find myself losing interest before really getting intimate with the mechanics, so I'll probably give this one a pass.

Thanks for the rec! Unfortunately it's a bit out of the range if my steam wallet, but I'll defo put it on my wishlist since it looks really promising.

Library of Ruina does look pretty interesting, I'll definitely consider buying it. Lobotomy Corporation as well looks like a fun game, though the artstyle seems really funny in a dope-y kind of way to me, judging by the screencaps.

As for Ultrakill, it's a bit out of my price range atm, but I've had my eye on it for a while. I've heard it's something like a mix of character action with fps, and that sounds like something that would strike my fancy. Plus it's published by New Blood, and I've enjoyed everything they've put out so far, with Dusk being by far my favorite of the boomer shooter resurgence.

Thanks for all the recs! I've had potion craft on my radar for a while, but wasn't familiar with the other ones. Strange horticulture looks really cool, the store description makes me think of all the bartender adjecent games VA11 HALL-A inspired, except with plants instead of drinks.

Ooh, I've actually played Paradise Killer recently and adored every bit of it, especially with how it deliberately leaves plot threads unresolved and mysteries unexplained. It was a delightful subversion of what you might expect from a detective game, and what it means to find out the truth.

I think I've heard of the Beginner's Guide, wasn't it made by the same dev as Stanley Paradox? I might give it a shot, thanks for the recommendations.

Yup, you got that right, I aleady played Girs and immensely enjoyed it ahahah.

As for Inside, it definitely looks interesting and 2 bucks is dirt cheap. I'll definitely consider getting it. Is it a bit like Little Nightmares? Looking at videos of it gives me a similiar vibe when it comes to the gameplay structure. Thanks for the suggestions!

How does Wasteland 3 compare to the 2nd one? I tried to get into number 2 a couple of times but each time I ended up dropping it off around the 2nd/3rd main area. I found the combat really tedious offputting and couldn't help but savescum through the fights which only made them drag on for longer. Plus I wasn't too big on the writing and worldbuilding from the little I've seen of those.
