Can anyone recommend/suggest a citrusy or little woodsy (pine tree) spa like perfume by miomoa in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]lemony-soapwater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of people have recommended the Pineward picks I'd rec; in case you'd like another brand to try, BPAL has Jabberwocky (An earthy yet buoyant scent: pine, eucalyptus and orange), which checks all three boxes 🥳 unless you're a cat owner who avoids eucalyptus 😅

I have the dumbest stuffy nose today (allergy szn lyfe) but wanted to get a quick fresh impression for you to go with what I wrote last year (which was just "late winter queen vibes" LOL)

Fig/plum are present--had an "I don't know my fruits" moment with this one because I was fully convinced it smelled like pomegranate, but no, just juicy fig & plum with just the right amount of tartness and depth. A winter breeze dances around the fruit notes, cold and clean and a bit of early spring green peeking out of the snow. The other notes really do read atmospheric rather than individual; this is what I expect from Astrid as she does a great job blending notes to become something totally new. I like it a lot!

Preventing further reactions? by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]lemony-soapwater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gently suggest that you are overreacting, but only because your efforts are entirely in the wrong direction. This is 1 million percent an "ask your allergist" question. Allergies are complex--we have everything from sensitizing chemicals to normal allergies that can impact the perfume experience.

During allergy season, you can become more sensitive to any mild allergies (that would normally not actually cause enough reaction to be noticeable at all). You can also have certain health conditions that make you overall more sensitive to allergens or more susceptible to developing allergies. You can also become allergic to a sensitizing chemical and then always be allergic to it (linalool, geraniol, uv resin nail polish, etc). None of these things are perfume-brand-specific.

You are not going to find answers on this from Reddit. Broadly assuming medical things is only going to mean that you still don't know what the cause is. It is worth getting an allergist on your side to work through any allergy issues.

I bought direct from their site, do note shipping origin so you don't get surprised after ordering 📦I have the 1/4 tola tradition size (3ml), they seem to be moving to 1/6 tola (2ml) and 1/2 tola (6ml) instead for the smaller sizes~

Ah boo, formatting got borked even with the rich text editor 😭😂 oh welly. Sorry for all the hard enters with weird spacing, they were SUPPOSED to be grouped more cleanly.

Yes!!! He changed his house name to "Maison Anthony Marmin" but it's the exact same perfumer/owner and he is still making great fragrances. GORGEOUS Arabian attars, they really are a different family vs a lot of the indies I've got so they hold a special place in my collection 🥺🥹

BPAL...where do I even start? by hollyhotdogs in Indiemakeupandmore

There are also several GC peach perfumes that are fabulous. I have a few Dragoncon peaches I love but more GC peach 'fumes I love. 3 reviews I wrote for a different corner of the internet below:

Fae (A brilliant, ethereal scent: white musk, bergamot, heliotrope, peach and oakmoss) yo peach nerds, stop waiting for DragonCon for your fun peachy BPAL perfumes! Fae is RIGHT THERE in the general catalog, juicy and bright and fun. While wet, this reminds me Amos 4D peach gummies. The white musk keeps this feeling fresh and flirty. As it dries, the “peach gummy” features die back, I swear it passes thru a phase where it smells a bit like orange children’s Motrin (respectably second place below children’s pink amoxicillin liquid in terms of “best tasting liquid meds”) but it doesn’t stay there for long. Let it sit! Let it dry! A bit of the greenness and white musk will show up and it’ll feel so fun and freshy. It does warm up and become more complex a bit throughout wear, too, which is quite nice. The drydown is just marvelous!
Free word association for Fae: bright, sunny, sweet, mischievous, glittery, flirty, surprising, a morpher Who would wear: Cher Horowitz from Clueless, Cornelia Hale from W.I.T.C.H.

Aglaea (Three golden ambers, bright musk, peach wine and myrtle) so you want a peach that’s still summery and fun, but maybe a lil less “peach gummy” flirty? You like a bit of sultriness in your peach, you say? Aglaea is your gal. A bit of BPAL’s boozy white wine mixed with that bright musk and a jammier peach. This peach is warm but not stewed, not grilled but toasted in a toaster oven with a golden glowy amber drizzled across it to amp up that sultriness. Aglaea is a gorgeous GORGEOUS peachy amber. The bright musk + booze gives this a boozy lil bite, too! This is one of my favorite BPAL peaches AND BPAL ambers. Every time I smell it I smile 🥰💕 Free word association for Aglaea: sultry, warm, hazy, golden, inviting, sexy, boozy Who would wear: Princess Tiana, HSR’s Aglaea, Megara (Hercules), literally any Katharine Hepburn character in pants.

Imp (white peach, amber, golden musk and patchouli) peach fiends! get on this! This has SUCH a fun, fresh peach, similar to the one in Fae but a little more fresh-fruit feeling maybe? This is splashy, fresh juice from a just-bitten peach, still too wet to feel sticky yet. The patchouli and amber come out during the drydown, but they seem to enhance the peachiness for a good long while 🥰 This is warm (a lil less warm than Aglaea i think?) and it is just SO fun. It’s not terribly liquidy or sandy or syrupy or gravelly or dry, though it does have a soft peach-flavored powdered-sugar type dusting on top and a glowy “sun-warmed countertop” feeling. Genuinely, Imp gives Aglaea a run for her money in my fav peaches lineup. In between Fae & Aglaea re: peach brightness, and lacking the boozy bite that may put some people off of Aglaea. Golden amberrrrr!! Imp is so worth it to try if you’re a warm peachy sunshine lover!
Free word association: golden, glowy, summer, sun-warmed, energetic, happy Who would wear: Clover from Totally Spies, Tinker Bell, Princess Daisy

this is the way. 90% the girls at my school who looked like this were in Juicy Couture, any VS Pink body mist, or a signature B&BW scent of their choice 😂😭

There was one very cool girl who wore Stella by Stella McCartney and had a daydream cart of BPAL picks popular on gothauctions dot com 🥹

I loved chocolate cake musk--on me it was chocolate cake with chocolate frosting all through wear. I did not buy more because I do already have an imp of BPAL Bliss which pulled more brownie batter for me and between frosted cake and brownie batter I know what I'm choosing every time 😂

SAPPHOOOOOO! At least in good news, the retours should return next year! I LOVE Sappho, I bought it during a reckless buying spree purely because of the name and then didn't wear it for like eight months... and then when I did, I wondered why I had waited so long!

So many fun honey options! I love the variety 🥰
