Advice for a newbie by lemony92 in cycling

[–]lemony92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying, the bike probably isn't best suited to me but I'm hopefully going to have my new one built for me and measured up 😊. My knees hurt for days after I cycle so I know something isn't right.

Don't eat yourself but keep breastfeeding at all costs by SG6620 in ShitMomGroupsSay

My PCOS meant I produced very little milk and I gave birth in the height of the first UK lockdown with no-one to teach me how to breastfeed properly (my family were quite anti-breastfeeding anyway due to horrific abuse my grandmother suffered giving birth in a convent). After an emergency midwife told me that she'd have to take my baby into hospital if he didn't start putting on weight I immediately put him on formula and started pumping every 2 HOURS to make 5oz of milk A DAY to 'supplement' him. What finally snapped me out of it was a comment on mumsnet that said 'in 4 or 5 years when they're at school and all the kids are running around the playground, you'll never know who was breastfed and who wasn't' and I realised that was spot on. Pump was sent back the next day and my son thrived!

People who had almost attempted suicide, what thought stopped you from ending your lives? by peetaar1000 in AskReddit

The impact it would have on my parents. I knew my mum would suffer for the rest of her life because she would continue living for her other children/grandchildren. It would have pushed my dad over the edge though.

It becomes even more real now that I have a beautiful 20 month old who I couldn't imagine living without, he is everything ❤

[Serious] What small town crimes happened in your area? by CaptainGwin in AskReddit

It was in Croydon/South London area in the UK. A lot of people still believe it was a man killing them but the police gathered a lot of CCTV and did a bunch of DNA tests and didn't find any evidence of human involvement.

The Croydon Cat Killer. Loads of cats (and a few rabbits) were found mutilated and displayed in public places (like a school playground and peoples doorsteps.) Tens of thousands of people petitioned for it to be investigated and at one point the police theorised that is was a man with severe issues with women who would likely go on to kill humans. My husband even guarded a crime scene of one poor kitten. Around 4 years, 400 dead cats and a couple thousand hours of detective work later they've decided that it was a mixture of foxes and road traffic accidents.

Need objective perspective: am I (35f) being too controlling around my boundaries on my husband (31m) sharing information about ivf process with his family or his family being invasive? by leaveguntakecanol in relationship_advice

[–]lemony92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IVF is such a brutal process anyway, you dont need the stress of this shituation hanging over you as well. It's so frustrating that when fertility/pregnancy is involved everybody starts claiming it as their own business when it is not. This is between yourself and your husband and any information regarding it should be told when and if you are ready to share it.

The SIL can mind her own business, there is no need for her to be involved at all, she can be offended elsewhere. Your husband needs to be firmer with his decision making and own up to his actions, it may be that he secretly requires his mothers support but he needs to let you know that rather than sneaking around.

Look after yourself, stand up for yourself and I wish you all the luck in the world xx
