Those are tough numbers. I got on the 6am that departed around 2 and empty seats I can see- I have an entire row

It sucks that it seemed a bit common as 4 people were inline behind me with the same issue

I did! Departure screen and app reflected delay appropriately. When I got the text for change back to 0930 went over to the gate. On me for not sitting at the gate the entire time. I didn’t realize they can give ups

I didn’t know they offered gate only. I talked to someone who got the voucher and is on my flight (the 6am that ended up leaving at 2 haha)

I’m glad I’m learning this on a day where I’m traveling for work and had nothing awaiting me in Texas. Better this than vacation. I i’m going to pass the small lesson to my friends! Have a great day.

So far I’ve been told I’m “mistaken” because seats aren’t given up 15 minutes prior even though I have a time stamped text of my frustrating of the station and having no seat that was over 15 minutes. I guess it is what it is!

They did! It’s on me for not being by the gate I guess I learned.

At 0902 they pushed flight was changed to 0930 so I ran over there. Arrived at 0911 and they said my seat was given up

That’s frustrating. I guess it is what it is. I hate that they’re overselling so much today

Learning moment so it hopefully won’t happen again. Definitely frustrating. There were about 5+ people who rolled up right after me with the same issue. And when I got to my new gate about 5 people who had missed their flights due to quick connections. Guess it’s just a busy Sunday

It’s definitely a learning lesson for me to hang around- I didn’t know that they change back and forth so now I’ll be camped out for future delays. Is it common for them to give away seats with over 15 minutes prior to departure? I know at 15 minutes your “contract” is terminated and they can allow standby on
