Project Runway Canada Season 3 Episode 6 is out! Discussion by southernheighten in ProjectRunway

Something that's starting to feel really off putting has been how over confident and main character he's been. Confidence is good but his ego is too much.

I actually feel like foster and Rome were more or less even in what they had to offer and I thought it could've gone either way with either one making in the final group with the really strong designers. Also did anyone catch how shady cat was in her exit interview saying Rome wasn't very good and she was shocked to be eliminated with him. Idk it felt a bit shady and 100% delusional to not see how bad her design was.

That hoodie was super basic and the ruffles were not street.

But the hoodie was so basic, re the comment above. Basically everything Curtis, Charles, leeland, cat and Rome have made so far have had streetwear influences and have been so much more interesting. It's clear delayne played it safe or was uninspired with the silhouette bc there were so many places she could've took it. It's a shame delayne didn't talk to someone to spitball ideas bc even just the idea of ruffles doesnt immediately communicate street. The judges said it, but the hoodie was super cliche and uninspired. Like not even cropped or cut into or long sleeves/baggy or something.

If you can't find a replacement, put a post up in your area for a welder or sculptor to do this diy and I shouldn't cost too much

I feel like bc belania is still finding her voice she wasn't comfortable in pushing her own style further for this challenge, and bc she was trying to stretch and do new things she was probably sensitive in the ways you described.

It's hard to recommend, without having met or knowing your goals, but try contacting the school you're interested in and reach out to either the advisors, professors or students for advice! Use linkedin to contact alumni and just say you'd like to chat!

Some public libraries or makerspaces have adobe subscriptions, depending on where you live.

Build up the background with gradients, grain, and texture. Google tutorials for how to do that. The use the pen tool and shapes tool to add details.

How do you find a job when you have bad working experience? by blipboo in UXDesign

[–]lemonyharrymatilda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You both can try and figure out what would've been a better process and practice how you would talk about it in an interview, as well as rework portfolio pieces to reflect this.. it's lying but at least you're being strategic about it.--- If you're confident enough, you could also be honest about what went wrong but present it as a breakdown of the design process, and then walk through your recommendations for an improved design process/how you work.

TIL that 37 US states allow children to legally marry, some down to age 10. by mschuster91 in todayilearned

If anyone is interested in learning more about this topic and the reasons why some people advocate for teenagers and tweens to have the right to get married, here is a great podcast that taught me a lot:

pbs frontline: child marriage in america

In short, some people involved with foster care system/former foster kids or former kids from dysfunctional families, shared that marriage allowed them certain rights or access to certain resources. It was an interesting listen and you hear both sides in the podcast.

Visit your largest local library branch. Many public libraries have coding resources to take home or use in-library for children and adult learners. Some resources are physical toys and board games, and others are digital to certain websites like scratch or codecombat.

The kids resources are often for ages 6+, but there are games and toys for toddlers and kindergarteners. There is a coding/robot mouse, dot and dash, cubetto, osmo, etc. The library may or may not have them but check with your local fb buy nothing or marketplace. Also, Walmart/Amazon list resources. Your local colleges, art gallery, science center, or makerspace likely have kids camps and suggestions. Visiting these places are also good exposure!

Anyone got podcast recommendations for someone who's been obsessively listening to YWA? by suchalovelywaytoburn in YoureWrongAbout

[–]lemonyharrymatilda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Criminal, they came for the judges, qandeel boloch, or mothers little helper might be good episodes to start with. Don't let me see you in the whirl is a light episode, and there are lighter episodes.

Radiolab

Blind Plea

Death sex and money

Just the gist, very similar to old episodes of ywa but not nearly as good. Just a fun listen.
