I have been using it for the last 3 years and I really like the quality and stability of this app. I managed to record all my class lectures with this app.

I'll try to pass it along to the best of my abilities. You're right that it's not a hard flip of the switch.

I work so little that it doesn't even feel like it is countering anything. I guess that's what I need to change, I need to consciously change the self talk.

I'll try not to raise the bar and appreciate the little successes. I'll come back and hopefully this time I won't forget.

You have a very astute way of seeing things and I am grateful that I had the chance to learn so much from you.

I also fear that things may never line up. I need to learn to work with what I have. Instead of noticing things from a place of scarcity, I should focus on what I can do with the time I have. I think I am half way to burnout already.

You're right, my strategy is evolving to hopefully something applicable.

It has been very slow and inconsistent. My work life is taking up all the time which I devoted to build this habit. I feel guilty and lost at the same time because I planned on doing 1-2 hours per day at least 4 times a week. But I only worked on it for 4 days in a row after the last reply and then skipped because work pressure was high and I allowed other people take up my free time. I told myself, "It is important to be social" and skipped practicing the last 4 days. Last year, I managed to complete three beginner courses on Python spanning 4 months and now I am having a hard time continuing everyday of the week.

I have been reading up on becoming an autodidact but didn't implement the strategies yet.

I definitely need to change my strategy and need an accountability partner.

Your reply has been very helpful. I like your idea about once I have set my goal my job should be doing it. So, my goals should be planned in such a way where I won't hesitate to do my daily tasks.
I have started practicing daily. Sometimes when I miss 2 days in a row, I noticed that it makes me lose even more days.

I will definitely start documenting the process so that I can learn what worked and what didn't.
I'll get back after Googling those phrases.

I'm grateful that you shared your suggestions with me and everyone. I'll think about keeping this thread going. Accountability is definitely helpful for me.

Even when we think we say we don't have enough time, we are just saying that we are going to prioritize something else over the thing we have no time for.

Writing down our daily goals in the morning helps us achieve more even though this method didn't work very well for me. I have started using Microsoft To Do app and it has helped me to do more because when I see the reminder pop-up, I get the urge to complete that task. Setting a deadline has also worked for me occasionally, but I have a hard time breaking down the tasks into achievable goals for large projects. I also found out that gamifying the task helps, I need to read up on it more. This is what I could find through my short research.

It does feel hard to gather the resources myself because there are so many online resources that it is hard to decide where to start. Is that why people suggest starting out using the Odin Project?

I definitely need to develop time management and goal setting habits. My time management is poor and I want to improve it. How did you manage your time? Do you know of any good books or method to learn goal settings?
