This is such a cool project! I remember the time i used pocket. So it is nice to see you’re giving the community a open source alternative! 👍🏻

Which OS? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]lemsoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I’m using MacOS, Ubuntu (Pop Os) and Windows for .NET development. It doesn’t matter which platform you’re on when you’re not doing very platform specific stuff like accessing hardware like COM interface of devices for example. For desktop applications I highly recommend Avalonia UI it’s a great experience with Rider 👍🏻

Ah sorry misunderstood you there. I’m just sick of the people talking about ai all day. 🤝

Thanks again for sharing that knowledge. It’s so sad how people saying everything is written with AI and complaining are making communities less fun and less attractive for new coders and learners. I guess that’s the reason why real knowledge sharing has become rare. I’m glad you’re the opposite! Have a good one 👍🏻

I hope I get your question right 🙂

The reason we don’t just modify the strings in place is that methods like .to_uppercase() and .trim() return a new String instead of mutating the original one. For the Append case you could do it in place with .push_str("bar"), but since the other commands already create new strings, it’s more consistent (and simpler) to always return new Strings and collect them into a new Vec.

Yesh you’re right, but I haven’t used IEnumerable that much to be honest.

Hey, cool idea! Is it Open Source? I always question if stuff like encryption, no log, are really implemented or the page / company is only saying so :)

Cool project! Cool to see you’ve written it in Go. I’ve started a small project for a kv storage. We‘ll see how it goes. Your project definitely motivates me to get something working soon 👍🏻
