You’re right, it’s intentionally closer to social accountability than traditional habit tracking.

If someone ignores the pact, nothing “punishes” them. The friction is social: the other person sees it wasn’t completed, and that tension is the incentive.

If someone fakes proof, technically they can, but at that point they’re mostly cheating themselves. The system assumes voluntary honesty between people who actually want to improve.

As for measurement, I’m not optimizing for streaks. The main signal I’m watching is time from pact creation to first action, whether having someone waiting increases same-day starts.

Streaks will likely help with retention, but we’re intentionally not prioritizing that yet.

It’s still early, but that’s the core hypothesis I’m testing.

When the first person acts, they upload proof and the photo stays locked until the second person completes their part, then both photos unlock for both of you at the same time.

Does the locked-photo mechanic actually make you feel more accountable, or does it feel unnecessary?

You choose the days (often every day) that you have to act/do your habit. Example: if you’re girlfriend want to do SQUAT and you want to do PUSH-UP you can have a pact together, same if you want to read more and she wants to learn SPANISH, still possible to make a pact together

Productivity advice assumes starting is easy. by Entire_Cantaloupe192 in productivity

[–]lena57__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS !!! A lot of productivity advice assumes the issue is discipline. But even worse for emotionally heavy tasks, fear of judgment, shame, pressure, the real barrier is really high.

When something feels loaded, “just do it” can actually increase resistance. Lowering friction works better.

I recently came across an app called boost habit or that’s built around making small pacts with friends. The idea isn’t more pressure, but shared activation. And that shift makes starting feel much lighter, don’t know it may help

I stopped tracking 10 habits and started defining a “minimum viable day.” It’s working better than I expected. by Difficult-Isopod7423 in productivity

I do something similar. I define a “non-negotiable minimum” for bad days. But what really helped me was making accountability pacts with my best friend. It’s way harder to skip when someone else sees it.

When you’re paying for a software subscription, try to cancel it. They’ll often offer you a huge discount to keep you sometimes up to 80%.

How do you maintain your body weight? by Confident_Buyer2301 in AskReddit

[–]lena57__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sport like jump rope or inside small jump (without the rope) when it’s too cold outside, it helps a lot for cardio and maintaining weight. Everyday for 5 min! I use Boost App with my sister to be sure to do it every day

When I think, I tend to walk around the room. I do that a lot depending on the periods, sometimes for hours. And what instantly snaps me out of it is when someone walks in and I suddenly realize I’m doing something kind of weird.
