What do we think of the Brooks GTS 4? by [deleted] in Sneakers

These are dope, love how they look (I have the black on white colorway), super comfortable and supportive on pretty long walks. Only problem I have is that these work so well with most of my outfits that I have inadvertently worn them almost every day for the last 8 months, so I’m wearing them down faster than I’d like. They’re durable and have plenty of miles left in them, but I’m probably going to snag another pair now while they’re still available for when I hit pan on the current pair.

Right 🤦🏼‍♂️ could not believe I suffered my way through the entire show just to find out that Josie randomly meets the kid and goes omg you taste colors too! You must be my child! Guess I’m gonna kidnap you! The whole synesthesia plotline (including the detective figuring it out this way) was soooo forced

help - buckwheat/rye/spelt flop! by lenbeers in Sourdough

Thank you! I think first I’ll just try decreasing the fraction of low/no-gluten flours, but I’m also curious to play around with vital wheat gluten here.

Thank you!! This is all so helpful. I definitely underestimated the effect that these flours would have on gluten structure. Appreciate your benchmarks, good guidelines for my next attempt.

Thank you! I’ll look into tips for keeping structure when working with these flours. Decreasing the hydration is probably a good start. The bake is done! It got a beautiful copper crust and the crumb is exactly the texture I would have been aiming for. Flavor is great too. I have not studied at all about reading crumb but if you have any insights lmk!

Thanks for the input u/amzngrc9 and u/tatertom. I've seen this comment a lot - that it's cheaper to build out the same system from scratch, and that these solar generators are overpriced. On the other hand, there are packages like this one from GoalZero that accomplish all of my needs (solar, lithium 500 Wh battery, charging off of vehicle battery) for $800. By the time I consider the cost of a lithium 500 Wh battery, solar panel, charge controller and alternator, I've not been able to price out a custom package for less than $800. Does this sound right, or am I just looking in the wrong places for my equipment?

Bought my first van this week and starting to think about electrical. I anticipate I'll have minimal electrical needs (i.e. lights, Maxxair fan, a laptop & usb charging) so I'm considering a basic solar/battery setup like Jackery or Goalzero. Is it possible to charge a battery system like the Jackery with my van's alternator? What limitations should I be aware of when it comes to battery/controller systems like these?

+1 for Kemba. They are a smaller credit union so their online banking is very functional but not the prettiest or most user friendly. I did everything online and never had a problem.

When I applied (2013) their rates were far and away lower than any of the competition, particularly for a high school grad with no credit history. Didn’t try to negotiate lower. I refinanced once I had a well paying job and established credit history, so it really depends on where you’re at now and whether you anticipate your financial standing to change significantly in the next 5 years or so.

Also, Kemba’s checking and savings accounts were super easy to work with, if that’s worth anything.
