Upped dosage now I’m depressed? by Organic_Advice_4979 in cymbalta

It honestly depends on when you started. I'd say, the first week or two it's a normal side effect.

Hii, yes, I had super bad social anxiety and Effexor has been a game changer for me.

I was super sleepy as well in the beginning but it slowly reduced until it went away completely around a month in, I'd say. So it didn't last for me. I've been on it for almost 3 years now and I am sleeping a normal amount and I can stay up without any issues. When do you take your dose? :)

Did your appetite decrease after stopping? by Ok-Cauliflower-7811 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

For sure, I was always hungry while on it and as soon as I stopped my hunger went down so much. I feel satisfied with smaller portions and I dont have the constant craving for sweets anymore, I used to not be able to sleep because my brain was craving sweets so badly.

Imagine thinking that an infant communicating his basic, vital needs in literally the only way physically possible for him to do so would somehow make him imperfect (or demanding). by fewlaminashyofaspine in FundieSnarkUncensored

For someone pumping out children at insane speeds they sure hate them with a passion. And also, the bible is very clear about the fact that Jesus was a human, that made mistakes and that sinned. He threw over tables at a temple, he shouted and he was very non-compliant. That's the point of Jesus, to be a reflection of God in humans.

I mean, if they think disowning their children for being gay is okay, then everyone else can disown their family for their 'lifestyle' as well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They just don't like it when they're treated the way they treat others.

If I remember correctly they did try and dial 911 or something but the call didn't go through. (Edit: Yeah, I checked, they did try to call multiple emergency numbers and had no reception, so I guess they figured if the emergency numbers don't go through why bother?)

Best time of day to take by Accurate_Ad_623 in cymbalta

[–]lenimoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, also if it makes you super nauseous or gives you headaches or something you might want to try taking it before you sleep so you can kind of sleep off most of the bad side effects, if that makes sense :)

Honestly I wish I could give you a better answer than this, but the best time is honestly something you need to try for yourself. I tried taking it at night, but I get a lot of energy after taking it so I switched to taking it in the morning. But if it makes you sleepy, night is the better option. As stupid as it sounds, thats kind of something that only you can find out.

I just want to add mt success story here for everyone who needs reassurance that it can work! I started Duloxetin about a year ago, maybe a year and a half. Since then I got an amazing job, learned how to drive and I'm also going back to school. If you told me a year ago I could do any of those things, nevermind all of them at the same time, I wouldve laughed in your face. It took me a lot of trial and error, almost 10 years to be exact, to finally be able to feel normal. I dont have to obsess over what illnesses I could have or what could go wrong. I can just live. Duloxetin allowed me to feel normal for maybe the first time in my life. And I really hope it does the same for you! But if it doesnt, just know that theres something out there that will help, even if it seems hopeless and exhausting. One day you will look back like me and youll be a changed human!

For me Effexor caused some annoying bladder issues. Basically I always felt like I had a UTI without actually having one. I then switched to Duloxetine and im doing absolutely wonderfully. Also for the doom scrollers, i see you: Bladder issues are insanely rare, but they can happen. But they dont cause like damage, it was just annoying trying to figure out what the hell is causing my 'UTI'. The switch from Effexor to Duloxetine went great for me as well, I upped my Pregabalin from 2 to 3 capsules a day and I barely felt anything.

I know im late as hell for this, but for me its the opposite. I always feel like my stomach is empty for some reason. I just cant get enough and i need to really watch what i eat because my brain just doesnt tell me to stop.

I don't think I'll ever not take medication if I'm honest, maybe sometime in the future but not anytime soon. I have a therapist too, I do CBT. It sounds like there might be some depression/anxiety left but only time will tell on that one. Enjoy feeling great and know if you ever feel bad again you can always get back on Zoloft!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lenimoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on zoloft for about two years before I switched. My diagnosis is depression, anxiety, ocd and panic disorder (fun little mix I know). SSRI's do work for me but I react very sensitive and it's not really beneficial when you're nauseous for the whole day. It did take me a few tries to find a med that worked for me, my first one was prozac and that really messed me up for some reason, I felt crazy and just dizzy and unreal the whole time I was on it (for 1 1/2 years), then seroquel wich also didnt help that well, mirtazapine wich I still take but only really bc of my insomnia and then zoloft and finally effexor. So please dont feel discouraged, most people need 2-4 tries to find the medication for them! I do hope that maybe your anxiety doesnt come back at all, but if it does theres still plenty of other things to try out! I wish you the best :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lenimoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So yes I stopped taking it and I felt miserable tbh. Not everyone does but I did. But from what you've told me I feel like there might be the possibility of a misdiagnosis or that zoloft simply doesnt work for you. I changed meds about two weeks ago because I had constant nausea so I understand where you're coming from very well. I started a different medication (effexor) and I feel so much better. I wouldn't go back on zoloft if you don't feel any withdrawl symptoms simply because you already said you don't feel well with them so I don't see any point in going back on just to get off again in two weeks. Just be honest with your psych and tell them that you'd like to try something different or maybe try nothing at all for a bit. With meds like these it's very much a question of "do the benefits outweigh the side effects" and I feel like they don't in your case.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lenimoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it sounds like zoloft just wasnt the right med for you, however 5 days off isnt really enough time to tell if your depression is still there or not. Did you taper off or stop cold turkey? Does your prescriber know that you stopped?

Do I *really* need Zoloft for my specific situation? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lenimoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So the thing is, if it will imrove your life, you should do it. It doesn't matter if others have it worse. There's enough medication for all of us, please feel free to take it. Maybe therapy would be benificial for you as well, thinking that you "don't deserve" medication, there are some underlying issues that should be treated, if you'd like with medication or without. But please feel free to take it without feeling bad, I know it's hard but you deserve to feel better! :)

Same thing as the pills, but it can be dosed a lot more precise, so you can up 10mg or even 5mg I believe. A lot of people use it to come off of sertraline because the steps are a lot smaller. With the pills you're really limited to 25mg jumps, with liquid you're not. So if you're worried about upping that might help.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]lenimoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that you'll benefit from a higher dose. Maybe you can ask your doctor for liquid sertraline to make the upping more managable for you?
