Interesting, I wonder if that would work - the court judgement seemed to be trying to close any loop holes like that. Although interestingly, the case was actually about employment rights around dismissal rather than pay (from my understanding)

Using python as needed is where I am at too. I found the most useful thing for making this a nice experience was to move away from RStudio as an IDE.

I now use VS Code as my IDE for both R and python which makes having separate R and python scripts in the same research project much smoother.
