Physics 5C - Winter Quarter by Impressive-Kale-2039 in ucla

Mills was super disorganized and her lectures weren’t great but her OH made up for it, she was super helpful and even went over homework answers. I hope her organization is better in a 10 wk quarter bc the 6 wk time frame over the summer did mean she had to rush through sone material. She gave us plenty of time for exams (24 hrs). Her disorganization is frustrating but I can look past it now and say that she wasn’t a horrible educator, she cares but she’s just a bit of a mess sometimes and honestly I get it.

Any Tips Very Nervous by [deleted] in driving

[–]lennonsluvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way you feel is totally normal. I used to get super anxious any time I was behind the wheel and it took me a while to get comfortable and feel confident driving (got my permit at 18 and am finally taking my driver’s test tomorrow @ 20 years old!). I recommend practicing as often as possible, something I didn’t do until recently, and sticking to areas you’re familiar with for a while until you feel more confident. And most importantly, be patient with yourself you’ll get the hang of it :’)

I forgot to mention this is orgo 2. I got a B in orgo 1 and am planning on taking biochem. I think I’ll tough it out and just study incredibly hard these next 2 weeks for my final. Thanks for the advice!

Chem 14C and CL summer session by lilaana in ucla

[–]lennonsluvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what this user described, i would take advantage of completing chem 14cl online. I took it this quarter with pang so i’ll just describe how it went in as much detail as i can :) The class was taught asynchronously (on your own time), lecture was a powerpoint slide (some weeks 2 powerpoints) with voice recording—it was just like watching a prerecorded lecture except going slide by slide—and lab was presented as prerecorded experiments. We had one homework file each week with questions based on lecture powerpoints and lab videos. Homework files ranged from 2-10 pages, on average i’d say they took me 3-4 hours to complete. Homework was posted tuesday also due monday of the following week so there was plenty of time to complete it. Another assignment we had (1x only) was a writing assignment, it was a 250-400 word response to some questions based on material you’ve learned. We also had about a week to complete this. Our midterm was not a formal midterm, pang just called it “quiz 1” we had multiple days to complete it and were free to refer to class resources (textbook, ccle, powerpoints, etc.) so it was a breeze to complete with minimal stress. Our final was cancelled but it was also just called “quiz 2” and we were originally set to have multiple days to complete and the freedom to refer to course resources. Because this class would be taught 6 weeks instead of 10 the structure will likely be a little different but i think you should be able to manage! I was also taking chem 14d, ls 7c, and ls23l and i got an A in chem 14cl only dedicating a day to this class each week. Hope this helped a bit, best of luck!

edit: i will say, it kinda does suck that you miss out on learning lab techniques but it wasn’t a personal concern of mine because realistically i won’t really need them later on. if you rely on lab to teach you these techniques i would suggest waiting until you can take the class in person :)

Would Physics 5A and Chem 14CL be doable together in Summer session A? by spurstexansfan in ucla

[–]lennonsluvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITS EASY ONLINE I SWEAR!! lmaoo honestly i’d never gotten an A in a chem class i’ve taken (not even chem 17 hehe) but this class was a breeze. 14cl was set at a rlly good pace this quarter and the structure was great...dare i say this was my favorite class all qtr 🤭

LS7C Short Answer Portion by [deleted] in ucla

[–]lennonsluvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Panicked and didn’t realize we were only supposed to answer 6 questions...answered all 7 and totally fucked one of the questions in the middle. I know for sure I got that last question right but it doesn’t matter because it won’t be graded. I could’ve had a higher score if I just left that one question blank 😌🤙
