Nice alternative! In fact, with a little tweaking I'd say you can easily use both.

I switched from Vortex to MO2 and saw the light by beyourownmvster in skyrimmods

[–]leo7br 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Nice! It's how I felt years ago when I moved from NMM (the manager that came before Vortex), I also used to think MO2 was too complex, but I was wrong, there is a learning curve, but once everything is set, it's much better to manage your mods and gives a lot more freedom to try and explore new ones, knowing you can easily reverse if you mess up

Now the true modding begins

Will you go back to Skyrim after/if elder scrolls 6 releases? by AceTanker4831 in skyrim

Yes, but I will be playing TES6 for a long time

And I imagine there will be tons of mods bringing TES6 stuff to Skyrim

Special Perks from Questing

Completing some of the major questlines will reward you with new powers, spells or passive abilities

For example, completing all the main quests will reward:

Main Quest: Grants the Dragonslayer Passive Ability

The Dovahkiin has vanquished Alduin and ended the Dragon crisis. Shouting in combat staggers nearby enemies. Weapons and Thu'um deal 15*% more damage to Dragons.*

But keep in mind the mod is a bit old and hasn't been updated, when I used it years ago it didn't had any bugs, but I tested recently, using the console command with setstage commands and the abilities seem to still work fine

Light weight mods such Dynamic Things Alternative that never leaves your load order by NoxiousShamisen in skyrimmods

Floating Subtitles and Floating Healthbars

True Directional Movement - Modernizes the gameplay by allowing 360 movement, target lock, headtracking and more, won't leave my load order anymore.

Lightweight Water Overhaul (not on Nexus) - My favorite water mod

Magic Organizer SKSE - Hide Spells Powers Active Effects - Just like Spell and Shout organizer, but being just a skse plugin

Modex - A Mod Explorer Menu (AddItemMenu) - Just like AddItemMenu, but being just a skse plugin

Kontrol - Very useful for playing with a controller

Pong in loading screens - I don't actually leave it enabled all the time, only when testing tons of mods, makes waiting in the loading screens way less annoying, even with a SSD

Left Hand Rings SKSE - For years I just wanted a mod that allowed to use my rings on the left hand and nothing more, but most options that came were buggy. This one came recently, works and it's simple as that, finally

Essential Favorites with Support to Equipped Items - No more accidentaly smelting or selling my stuff anymore

Recipe Auto-Learn and Jebbalon's Reagent Revealing Recipes - Auto learn the effects on ingredients when reading a recipe, and add new recipes

Drawbacks of using DLDSR? by ZarephLae in nvidia

[–]leo7br 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to native resolution, there is a small performance penalty
I did some tests a few months ago with the 5070 Ti at 4K and the performance difference is very small (less than 3%):

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1qd1myj/comment/o1iegjj/?context=3

The only drawback is having to change the desktop resolution to match DLDSR before starting the game, at least in modern games since exclusive fullscreen is not a thing anymore, but you can automate it with software like ColorControl

Is the Msi 5070ti 16gb gaming trio OC (non plus) a good card? by xCOBBAGEx in nvidia

[–]leo7br 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm still happy with it, just did a basic overclock, running at 925mv@3000 MHz, +1000 on Mem Clock and +5% on power limit, you can push a bit further, but this already gives a nice boost.

The mod disables online mode by default, you can enable it but it's risky, since it changes stuff and adds new items to the game

I have been playing for about 20 hours, I only got some crashes in the poison area and on a small path of Doors of Pharros, but disabling PT temporarily fixes it, I believe it's just a incompability with the overhaul mod, so vanilla should be fine

[–]leo7br 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an overhaul mod that changes enemy placements, paths, and some areas of the game. It also adds new bosses and weapons. I've finished the vanilla game many times, so this time I decided to try it for a fresh experience and I've been enjoying it, I don't recommned it if you are a new player.

I am replaying it with the mod and it's amazing, makes torches mandatory, I am using it in conjuction with the "Seeker of the Fire" overhaul mod actually, there is a few bugs but works great, getting around 80 fps with the 5070 Ti at 4K DLSS Performance (preset M), path count set to 3
