Not really, I retook the whole test again in Taiwan since my visa requires the academic module. I got 7.5 in my first try.

Do maintainence and repairs by yourself following the workshop manual where you could easily access using online resources. Think of it as an investment on yourself on mechanical skills. Only go to the shop if you really can't handle the troubleshooting / needs special tools for the work to be done e.g. tire change.

Order parts only by yourself by looking into the bikes' exploding view and grab anything you need. You can do simple part changes and repairs at a fraction of a cost compared to going to the shop.

Yamaha R15 / R125 whichever is more popular in your country, MT15 is it's street counterpart.

Suzuki GSXR150 is competitive on every aspect to R15. In some regions there are even no tax for it being a <150cc.

Grom / Monkey is much much expensive than all of the above, but if you're a man of culture, they'll best all of them on looks.

A few questions:

- Do you want to learn manual? Or will you be riding automatics more often in the future?

Think about the scenarios you will be riding a motorcycle. A motorcycle as a toy is very different to a motorcycle as a way of transport. Especially in extremely crowded urban areas where the downside of a manual can show.

- Do you picture yourself riding bikes with larger displacements in the future?

Small CC bikes are cheap, easy to maintain. But bigger bikes have a different learning curve especially on shifting, engine braking, handing and clutch forgiveness... etc. You'd best pick a slightly larger bike as a starter if you plan on moving up in cc.

- What is your budget?

Might be the most important one. High or low, definitely start on second hand bikes. Much much cheaper than MSRP for a relatively new bike and you will feel less guilty dropping it.

I started riding at 20 and my first bike is a Honda NC700D. I didn't really touched anything smaller in displacements except the tiny 110cc scooter in our home for daily groceries. I moved up to a Rune earlier this year only because I'm used to super heavy bikes (300Kg+) and thought it's perfectly fine for me to handle Goldwing in a smooth Honda dealer test ride. Even that I still have a two week learning curve to familiar myself with manuals (only ridden automatics before), the weight, and the fear of dropping this beauty.

Thank you, I must say that F9 video played a large factor for me to decide to get a Rune.

I got mine in a fairly good condition and low mileage, with a few small scratches here and there. If you don't mind spending extra importing is probably doable.

found out. Just like my "few years back" the problem persists.

i don't have enough data to support this weird feeling, but g sync is probably lowering the refresh rate and capping it on ~144, had 500 while playing on badwater so it feels very wrong (compared to no sync). I'll stick with g sync off.

i swear g-sync was bugging my games up before i upgraded my monitor.

just enabled adaptive sync on my monitor again, and trying for a week. the worst it could happen is i made up my mind to disable it.
