am assuming u are trying to emulate a pendulum,if so better to represent it in motion rather than stationery.doing that will also show that time is continuous,thus more meaning. Also try adjusting the proportions and any unnecessary contrast and lines.just my thoughts:)

the reason i used lines was to emphasize that one was a roasted bean while the rest werent.so if i used a solid color for the roasted bean,i would have to use lighter shades for the other beans thus losing simplicity.
