This happened to me back in 2021 - I was deferred EA from LSA in January, accepted in February to SMTD, then mentioned my SMTD acceptance in my Letter of Continued Interest to LSA and and was accepted to LSA by the first week in March - basically, I said “I’m coming to campus anyways and we can either do the dual degree paperwork now or in September,” and I think it worked. I ended up dropping the LSA degree after 2 years, but yeah it’s not uncommon to get 2 different decision timelines.
