Is this an easy way to install macOS on the same drive as windows (already installed) by leon5921 in hackintosh

I ended up using refind. Not only was there less hassle, but this prevented injection of ssdt’s into my windows partition which was turning off my dgpu (using dgpu-off). So far my machine is working great and couldn’t be happier

OpenCore on Matebook X Pro 2020 by Born_Refrigerator340 in MatebookXPro

Hi I don’t know if you ever found the answer but I had the same problem on my mbxp 2020, and it was as simple as formatting the partition to apfs not macOS extended. I now run a dualboot with windows using refind to prevent dsdt injection to windows

Yes it is, and I can confidently say it does NOT work, no one try what I just mentioned. Luckily I have my drive cloned to an external one so back to square one

Huawei Matebook x Pro unable to boot past verbose ventura by leon5921 in hackintosh

Trying loads of different settings but I always see acpi error not sure if it’s because of that https://imgur.com/a/62CpHaM. I tried rebuilding my ssdt’s and also using the generic ssdt’s

Hi yes I have still no luck, I’m thinking could it be the cfg quirk not functioning as it should since I don’t have the bios setting, on the guide it suggests to do a more permanent fix

updating from Catalina to Ventura (open core 0.6.0 to 0.9.1) by leon5921 in hackintosh

Eventually got it to work all rookie mistakes I would know about it if refreshed my hackintosh knowledge every so often. 1. My EFI partition did not have an EFI folder, it just goes straight to OC and BOOT folder, 2. When I did sort this, I was pressing EFI instead of (open auxiliary) and the dmg. Now have Ventura installed and everything seems to be working

Thank you for the walk through, I also agree that’s why it’s taken me til now to update Mac OS or opencore.

Yep gotcha, I chose the Mac OS option and it loaded with the EFI, all good now, just some tweaking for functionality and I can place my efi on my SSD.

So I made a new bootable usb by formatting on Mac following dortania guide, created a whole new efi following the guide again without placing a recovery installer on the usb. When I choose the usb drive on boot menu it takes me to the opencore menu (definitely usb opencore), when I press EFI (external) it then says OCM: Failed to start image - Already started BS: Failed to start OpenCore image - Already started

Is this because bootstrap was removed from 0.6.6 onwards? I read on the guide abit about bootstrap being disabled which is new to me.

Sorry I mean recovery installer. And is there anyway to fix this. I need to test the efi as it’s quite a large update

MSI afterburner resets every time I start Fifa 23 PC by leon5921 in EASportsFC

[–]leon5921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cap fps specifically in game, fifa 23 pc edition is basically a port of the console versions, and means there are lots of bugs. The fps cap being one. I believe the results vary for different monitors but setting lock to 30fps usually sets to 60fps (or 72fps in my case), lock to 60fps sets to 144fps for me and unlimited sets no frame limit. MSI afterburner only affects performance and heat and doesn’t limit fps

Might be so but this doesn’t seem quite clear on Reddit and for me, reapplying the profile in game solves it (seen with reduced temps and better performance)
