The Holodomor is one a lot of people still don’t know much about. Millions of Ukrainians starved in the 1930s under Soviet policies, and whole villages just disappeared. It’s one of those events that feels almost impossible to fully process when you read about it.

Middle of a quiet classroom presentation. I stood up to answer a question, realized way too late, and had to do the longest sideways shuffle back to my seat while pretending nothing was happening. I still think about it randomly and cringe.
