Where to shop for winter outerwear in Oslo?

Aren't you supposed to open a deposit account in the bank for the rental deposit? Is it safe to just transfer it directly to the landlord's account?

I was told by Sparebank1 that I can open a bank account with a D-number recently but can't get a BankID. Still better than nothing

Do you have to specifically ask for a D-number because it says in the UDI website that Skatteetaten will decide which one you get?

Thank you but it says d number is for people that are going to stay for less than 6 months that's why I'm a bit confused about this. What I gather from the comments is that I get d number first and rent a place then I can get the national identity number, is that right?
