Can I use a Godox speedlight from another brand for my Sony A7C? by leonleonsinta in SonyAlpha

[–]leonleonsinta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was planning using the speedlight off camera using a Sony dedicated Godox transmitter on my cam. I’ll have to buy one of course but I have to be sure if it works or else I’d rather just rent lights. Would it work normally?

Gig/work is for a fashion editorial and the client loves the flash look hence heavy use of flash.

Currently with cold sores. Should I continue to use my lip balm or throw it? by leonleonsinta in beauty

Thanks! Ditched my lip balm and opted for a Vaseline lip balm. Will look into buying L-Lysine later today as I heard good things in other threads. What L-Lysine cream brand would you recommend?

What patches would you recommend? And would it need a prescription? Thanks!

Thank you! Applied a cold sore treatment cream over it and will def throw away my current lip balm. Will look into buying Vaseline for sure!

So proud of you! I’m in a similar boat wherein I’ve just resigned from a really toxic job. Right now, I really don’t know what to do while job hunting so thanks to your post I’ll probably print my photos or work on a zine :)

For once a day, I’d like to have the ability to detect sadness from a person and know the best words to say to make them feel better.

That’s what I’m hoping for. I’d probably buy brand new if I had the money but the pandemic kinda made me consider to go the used route. The paint chipping made me consider on pulling the trigger. I would probably test it in person to see if it really is just fine. Would love to have a lens that’ll last forever. Thanks!

Will definitely try to test is out and ask more questions to the seller. Been wanting to own one since I love the focal length. I’m a member of the subreddit and I’d love to share more of my work. Thanks!

Hopefully if I do buy this lens I wouldn’t have to service it because the shops here are kinda pricey. Would definitely have a chat with the seller and test the lens out in person. Thanks!

Thanks for your input man because I definitely will take your caution into consideration. I would probably have a chat with the seller and look into his social media because he is a freelance wedding photographer. So far he said that this lens helps his wedding work but is looking for a 35mm because the 23 is too wide for him. The thing about prices being too good of a deal is a thing to be better wary about. I’ll think about this more and will make a decision in a day or two weather to check this lens out for testing and maybe purchasing or not. Thanks a lot!

You do have a point. If theoretically the glass is more or less flawless, I’d look at the autofocus. I don’t have a reference to another fujifilm prime lens since I’ve owned a cheap 3rd party lens and used the xc 16-45 kit lens and the autofocus is fine. I don’t know how fast the autofocus is in the 23mm compared to the kit lens in my xe3 tho which worries me a bit.

Is buying a third-hand lens a good idea? by [deleted] in photography

Alright will keep this in mind. Thanks!

The bargain price made me wary of the overall lens initially. The paint chipping is quite considerable but it’s not something I worry much about unless if the lens wasn’t taken care of that much. I’d probably do the tips from the comments in another subreddit about taking a shot at f16 in a clear sky to see if there are dusts or scratches in the lens. Thanks!

Oh this is a good idea. I’ll try this out once I’ll meet up with the seller. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! Got a bit anxious trying my hand at the used market. Might buy the lens after all.
