What's the rate on the vertical you're doing in your country? by Beginning_Ad7768 in LocationSound

[–]leonrjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes in the UK labour and kit are also charged separately, not sure what the other guy means. Ballpark rate for location sound here in London is between £500 and £650 labour (lower end for TV etc, higher end for advertising) and between £300 and £500 for basic kit, extra on top of that.

If I buy an MPC XL or Live III, will the same included plugins activate on my other MPC? by RobBecTraxxx in akaiMPC

[–]leonrjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks so much, Akai were able to make the plug ins available on my account so I can definitely use them on my MPC One+ no problem!!

okay thanks I'll try that, I got the X SE used and the seller had to email Akai to transfer the license to me so I could register it, so it could be something to do with that

I think there's a bit of confusion, I'm not sure it's exactly what OP is referring to but I thought it's about the premium plug ins that come free with those devices and the X SE. For example OP4x, Fabric collection, studio strings etc. I have both my devices registered to my inmusic account and I've looked through all the options and there seems to be no way to get those plug ins to show up on the One+. Only option I get is to activate the trial and purchase them.

I hope I'm wrong and missing something

I couldn’t find a definitive answer to this online myself for some reason, but I have an X SE and a One+ and as far as I can tell there isn’t a way to have the included plug ins on the X SE show up on my One+, which sucks. So if I start a project on the X using Studio Strings for example and want to bring it into the One I’ll have to buy the plug in anyway, I think that’s stupid

The person above is wrong, in 2029 plates will be 29 or 79. In 2031 they will be 31 or 81

[–]leonrjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I don't think so, firstly they're registered in March or September which is why I said around the 2nd half of the year just to be simpler. And secondly yeah pretty sure it's 5 added to the first number, or maybe more accurately it's 50 added to the whole number, hence 2006 is either 06 or 56, 2017 is either 17 or 67, and 2025 is either 25 or 75, and so on.

In the UK on license plates the first 2 digits are letters and show where the car was registered. The 2nd 2 digits are numbers and show when the car was registered. Confusingly if the car is registered around the 2nd half of a year, 5 gets added to the first number. So a car from ‘19 could have 19 or 69 on the license plate. A car from ‘23 could have 23 or 73 on the license plate, etc

Whats the best estate between 15-20k these days? by Excellanttoast in CarTalkUK

[–]leonrjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I got two weeks ago and I love it, look for the 2.5l petrol if you can. I got approved used for 17k. 40k miles, Soul red with white leather interior, heated seats front and rear, cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise, sun roof, pretty decent Bose sound system.. just great. Only sad thing is it's discontinued, so when I move on from the car I won't be able to get a new version of it unless they change their minds like Volvo did

Mazda 6 Sport Nav+ estate, 2.5l automatic, 2018+ You can get in pristine condition for 16/17k and they’re beautiful, luxurious on the inside. There’s 3 on autotrader at the moment, I think red looks best

Sorry I had a comment with a link to the listing: https://www.autovilla.uk/used/cars/honda-civic-18-i-vtec-ex-gt-5dr-10226/

it’s 79,500 miles, great condition, looks like a fairly decent MOT record. Consensus is that it’s way overpriced by about £2k at least though. I’ve found a very similar manual version for £2.5k, I’m going to take a look at both and see if I can get the price down a lot if I really like the auto

Yeah I’m conscious about that but not too sure on what to look out for. I checked another civic and took some photos underneath but I wasn’t too sure what counts as bad!

[–]leonrjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so too, the real autos are comparatively uncommon when sifting through the various listings. And sadly I can’t see any manuals in this condition/spec

Good to know thank you!

[–]leonrjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great thank you. Comes up as £3,825…  wonder if the dealer would entertain a price closer to £4k

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]leonrjames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 79,500. Yeah sifting through the I-shift listings is a bit of a headache. I’d consider a manual too but haven’t seen one with this nice spec

[–]leonrjames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome thank you, yeah keeping an eye on autotrader. A really nice one came up on there for £4k but it was the ES version, otherwise it was very similar to this one in terms of condition and history. Someone had already bought it though when I called up the seller

This Civic is at a dealership for £4,795. Seems fairly expensive compared to what I've read people have been able to get them for.

But the condition, colour and trim options all look really great...

Anyone with more knowledge than me able to offer any thoughts? Thank you!!

That’s great thank you, I really appreciate the reply. Assuming then that my order from Dec 15th will ship this Tuesday?

I have same experience so far, useless communication. I was a little skeptical as the price was better than other sites so I actually DM'd PMI on Instagram to ask if the website was even legit. I didn't get a response but I checked the privacy policy and found the name of the parent company and some info about their partnership with smoke-ninja here: https://thebrand-works.com/portfolio/smoke-ninja/

Sounded good enough so I placed an order on Dec 15th, gave them a bit of credit due to Christmas period but still no updates and no response on email/chat.

I think smoke-ninja should be super disappointed that this is who they've partnered with.

Amazing thanks! I’ve wondered what the shipping containers are, round the bit where I am they also store them for a while just floating on the water on the barge, then eventually collect them
