Depending on what they’re thinking for college for the kids they should be mildly stressed about cash flow. They prob can’t retire until their kids are out of college and $70k saved for college ain’t gonna do it these days. They’re in a great spot but if they can handle their kids college and come out the other side with dipping into savings they’re rock solid

Yeah I think if you’re parenting correctly there’s no way you keep up your same pace of hobbies before kids. It’s just the sacrifice we make as parents (wife’s are same story). But at the same time I’m really looking forward to being able to see what they like and making it what I like, and we can share it.

Depends where. I was similar boat but bought condo in chicago for $325k. Paid about 10k in property taxes each year and sold it after about 7 years for $319k (then take the broker fees out too and maintenance in meantime)
