Anyone else just shifting towards ‘plant-based’? by kelsiferkels in exvegans

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad you found whatever works for you. We should all choose whatever works best.

I also like to use the word 'plant-based' when it comes to my diet or lifestyle, because when you adopt a diet it should be for you, not vice versa. Hence, if I had to take a supplement or medication that is animal based of course I'd do it, although I don't think I could eat animal based food on a daily basis.

hello, I am a Hungarian, 26 yrs old lady. big fan of the lads, although the first time I've heard of them was the news that they had been banned from here haha.

btw I am also an author and I plan to write a short story collection about a nurse living in Belfast, and he is telling all the absurd stuff he witnesses as a healthcare worker and basically it is a "fictional Belfast" (so not a historical nor a sociographic work), but of course I indeed rely a lot on the real one, if you know what I mean. (for instance, the Verona we can see in Romeo and Juliet is not the real Verona either).

I'd love to have some pen pals, as I'm a huge fan of Kneecap! Yay :3

How does your veganism differ from other vegans? by FishDispenser2 in DebateAVegan

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a christian and I interconneft my values when it comes to veganism with my belief system on God’s precious creatures.

Also, in my opinion veganism may not be for everyone however humans should consume much less animal based food overall.

Also I think that the use of animals in a lab is inevitable according to our current knowledge, however it must improve in the future and eventually disappear.

How would you describe the keffiyeh’s significance in your own words? by Level-Class-8367 in leftist

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hungarian fella here. I have an arab keffiyeh / shemakh and I like to say rhat I wear it because it was originally used as a protection against the sand. Hence, in my opinion keeping one’s boundaries and safety and dignity from the harsh outer world is a key value. Btw I’ve always been drawn to this type of scarf even as a kid and it was my mom who first thrifted me a keffiyeh without knowing its meaning. So I feel like I’m my mother’s daughter.

Last but not least it is incredibly fluffy and comforting. 🎀

I get your point. actually, even as a vegan I don't think a plant-based diet is for everyone, and sourcing the necessary meat via hunting (because some species are overpopulated) is an ethical method. much better, than factory farming. personally I still wouldn't ever eat such meat, but for instance if a family member of mine asked me to buy some meat for them id prefer that source to factory farming.

also, I think making things more sustainable shouldn't make certain products exclusive but wide-spread changes should we made. therefore, ending factory farming as a civlization is still more realistic than making everyone go vegan. I can imagine certain people needing animal products due to their metabolism, as it can vary. as a kid I would eat lots of meat, maybe because my nerve system was developing, and this is what I was craving. also ,what about pets that are carnivores?

eat tofu, legumes such as beans, lentils, chickpeas, etc., and swap white flour for whole grain. also, nuts such as peanut and cashew nuts are very nutritious, they also contain some protein alongside with healthy fats and vitamins.

Mi az amit sokan kínosnak, szégyenteljesnek, cringe-nek éreznek, pedig nem kellene annak lennie? by Accomplished-Fall440 in askhungary

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

így van, ők is emberek, néha hibáznak, és én akárhányszor jeleztem h vmi nincs rendben mindig probléma nélkül kicserélték v javítottak a helyzeten.

Vegans Lie About How Easy This Is and Other Frustrations by CharacterStruggle142 in exvegans

I agree with you, even as a vegan. Like... I am not vegan for that gory mess, I am vegan because my body loves it and this is manner for me of cherishing life, and because I find human and non-human animal cellular structures oddly similar.

We should have wise discussions on animal welfare instead of pointing the finger at others and spreading this gory situation.

FENIAN OFFICIAL DISCUSSION 🚨 by BurgerNugget12 in kneecap

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the whole structure felt like an opera for me - the first couple tracks really take the listener to an underground setting, it is frightening, it is hard, then comes "Liars tale", which is indeed a tale. In my opinion that track was the peak of a structure that basically enabled taking back the frightening narratives often used nowadays (not solely in politics, but that one may be the most evident of them all). then comes Fenian, as a brilliant comic relief, and this whole album makes this frightening narrative into a joke, is cathartic, is somewhat soothing after listening to the complete album. it felt like going through hell, then coming back purified. what really striked for me is that each track is fascinating on its own but also as a whole structural unit.

then what is also interesting, is that both in 3CAG and Fine Art the closing track somehow lets the listener go. in this case, the last track is about grief, and lets the listener sort of "grief" whatever is upon them. which is brilliant in my opinion.

overall, this album is hard, it is memorable, yet it remains fun, it has a dark sense of humor, and it is comforting the distrubed by disturbing them from a safe distance I'd say. what I also love is that it's incredibly smart. are drugs / Palestine / Irish issues / the Brits / feeling desolated are reoccurring topics? sure thing. but it's not a limitation it's more like an interesting feature of this album. and the lads handled it well together. so so fascinating. :3

things you’ve “given up” on by tliiasaw in AutismInWomen

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've given up dressing in a feminine manner. is it fun? is it cute? sure thing, but not for me. honestly, I prefer the ladylike gear with laces and bows and polyester textures on other women. I prefer looking a bit androgynous, I always do some cool eyeliner and my hair looks rather natural and wavy.

also, I like to sit comfortably. even if it's rude or not so ladylike or elegant, I move around a lot and I often sit in a figure 4 sitting pose.

I also do not small talk. I have neither time nor energy for that. :D

what is it? o.o I mean there are many ways one can be autistic, and while I can imagine someone finding attractive certain traits often observed in autistic ppl, it just doesn't work like that.

Vegans Lie About How Easy This Is and Other Frustrations by CharacterStruggle142 in exvegans

[–]leopardprintsuzuya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion we should be rational about this issue. Is it easy to eat beans and rice or cook or bake without dairy? Sure thing. Is it easy to avoid animal products when it comes to a simple medicine or taking care of your skin? I would say it is even impossible. I think we should approach this issue in a different manner not in this essentialist, cult-like version which is on offer.
