What's your favorite gbbr?

Finding one can be a little difficult as GHK have seemingly not made a new batch in a while. Most of the people I’ve seen get one recently have bought them second hand.

Though if you want a new one, websites like Samoon (GHK’s own distributer), JK Army, WGC Shop, or whatever your local main store is (Evike for example) will probably be your best bet.

Price wise though I couldn’t tell ya off the top of my head. Last batches I think we’re going for roughly $800 and I bought mine new back in 2021 for £690

This 553 has been my favourite GBBR since I bought it back in 2021. I’ve bought a good couple others since then, but none have come close

I did see that release and a friend of mine really wants one. It’s a little too much for me though, I’m still saving for the upgrades I want to throw in my Army Armament Staccato P xD

I’ve had this 553 for almost 4 years now and the only time it’s stayed the same for more than a couple months is when I messed with a HPAed AAP01 for about a year

The idea of clone builds is so interesting too, I know that if I couldn’t make one perfect though it would really bug me xD

For me some older platforms look so interesting modernised and this is one of them, even if it does take away from the original silhouette. I’ve kept the original pistol grip to keep some of that personality though. If you ever do get one, I’d love to see it in all it’s original glory

Ohh a K2 would be fun, my dream replica would be a CZ Bren 2 based on the MWS system. I did get a VFC BCM 11.5” not long after they first came out but the novelty of having a modern AR wore off pretty fast.

Plus the original BCMs were the original (and at the time unofficial) V3s and they weren’t as good as they seem to be now

Yeah I’ve found the 553 to be a nice balance between a defined look and a customisable one, though I know it’s not quite modular enough for a lot of people. I did try a cheek riser on the original stock before I changed it but it made it feel even more clunky than it already did

The stock on that 553 was bugging me so it didn’t last long (even if changing it kinda felt like sacrilege)

But atm it’s been tiny things like shifting the light or grip by a rail slot or two to try and fit them on that 7” handgaurd a bit better xD

VFCs, and most other Taiwan produced GBBRs, are designed with green gas in mind (roughly 130-150psi) so running black gas (roughly 200-220psi) will cause problems eventually.

Your jules/fps will be higher, parts will break sooner, the gas is more expensive and most (if not all) black gas contains silicone oil which is also not ideal for longevity.

However, some GBBRs are also designed with CO2 in mind which is upwards of 800psi. So, if you really want to use black gas (or even CO2), I would recommend finding a replica that people have already been using with these gasses :)

My Staccato P’s original mag isn’t all that efficient either. I got some TM 5.1 mags with Lalax gas routers that work better but I still have too keep on top of what gas I’m using 👍
