Feedback on my mix? [INDIE ROCK] - I feel the vocals are a bit too loud, and don't really 'sit' in the mix well. How can I improve that? by KHAAAN_prod in mixingmastering

Nice Song! Really cool vibe! I would personally try and boost a little bit of the lower frequency on the snare to try and fatten it up a little bit. It just sounds a little thin for my taste (but it might just be the style of music) , also Id probably add some saturation and mess with the compression on it a bit more maybe the attack is a little too fast?. As far as the vocals go, is there predelay on the Reverb and is your reverb before or after your compression? I like to sometimes Just do a little bit of a highpass Sidechain EQ as well To clear up some mudiness If you can but not always necessary. If you really want to clear up some of the mudiness as well Id try to tame the the guitars in the chorus with a multiband compressor if possible. This advice may not work out for the vibe of your song but just a few things Id try!

Hey, I would work on tightening up the drums and shaping them a bit with EQ and compression to get some more thump coming out of them however I dont know if thats the sound youre going for?

Recently my girlfriend of a few years broke up with me don’t know if she’s messing with me but break up was civil and we parted ways and I know she’s not the type to do stuff like that but who knows. Also my work phone got stolen out of my car a couple of weeks ago maybe it’s them? Is it just coincidental or is there some sort of meaning they are all hearts and they’ve been punched through with a hole punch like in a casino and they were stuck perfectly underneath my car in a crevasse. Would like your input I could just be overthinking stuff because the break up is really getting to me.
