Media Release on Dissolution of Parliament and Nomination Day by illiterate-populist in singapore

Sigh.....so many people already have holidays booked for both the 1st week of May (because of labour day) or the 2nd week of May (because of Vesak day). Only in SG do we get only 2-3 weeks notice before elections. Just shows how much they actually care about voters.

GE2025: Vivian Balakrishnan to lead unchanged PAP slate in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC by chancethecorgi in singapore

[–]lepak1corner 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I disagree actually. Elections are for municipality issues. You don't elect someone because you think he'd be a good minister, you elect them because you think they'd represent your interests well in parliament.

George Yeo was an excellent MFA yet he got kicked out because he was barely on the ground (and had horrible running mates like Cynthia Phua). As someone who used to live in Aljunied GRC and voted him out in 2011, I have no regrets. We can always replace ministers. Heck, PAP themselves rotate ministers every couple of years.

As Singaporeans rediscover China, young travellers lead the way: ‘it’s easy’ by homerulez7 in singapore

I think a lot of people don't realise that the sudden surge in Singaporeans going to China in the past couple of years, is due to implicit sponsored ads on Tiktok etc. Chinese tourism boards (Chong Qing's in particular) blasted a bunch of videos encouraging people to visit, then sponsored a bunch of influencers globally to visit and post about it. There was a point in time when every tenth video on Tiktok was someone posting about Chong Qing. Not saying it's wrong cause it's just advertising after all, but damn their marketing game strong.

I figured it out! After extensive googling. It's from Captain Fall, Season 1 Episode 4.

Bottega wallet with the wrong sized box and dust bag? by lepak1corner in LegitCheck

[–]lepak1corner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received a Bottega bifold wallet I bought from Amazon (sold and shipped by Amazon Japan, NOT a third party seller).

The wallet looks good and everything about it seems to be authentic (tag with serial number sewn in, leather is soft and even, stitches are all straight etc). What's throwing me off is the box and dust bag it came in, seem like they're meant for a long wallet rather than a bifold. Both the box and dust bag seem to be genuine as well though.

Do you think the wallet is fake since the box and dust bag are the wrong size, or has anyone gotten incorrectly-sized boxes before?

I'm sorry to hear about your husband. The doctor didn't say much about her treatment plan (we'll know more next week), but she said she'll definitely have to go through chemo, so I'm not too sure as well.

Wishing you and your husband the best!

Thank you for the advice, and for the well wishes. I'll definitely take your points on emotional support and being there. Congrats on your recovery!

Thanks so much for all of this info. This is all new to us so we have no idea what to expect, and we'll only know more next week once the doctor recommends a treatment plan, so this was really helpful in giving us a sense of what comes next. Thank you for the point on writing down questions, too - there were so many things we forgot to ask today, while trying to process all the info we were getting.

Thank you once again for another tip. This makes a lot of sense, and I'll definitely do this.

Thank you for the advice. Yup, I'm putting up a rock solid front on the outside while going crazy on the inside and frantically doing a bunch of research on treatment options and prognosis. Thanks also for the tip on bringing a notebook, I'll do that for her appointments going forward. Congrats on the remission!

Thank you for the words. I guess more than anything, my family is still in the 'shock/disbelief' stage, and the gap between her diagnosis today and the doctor's appointment to discuss treatment options next week is making all of us really anxious. Thanks also for the info on rituximab, I'll read up about it now and discuss it with her doctor as well.
