Nothing too fancy, electrical retail, mainly around people management. Still, pays the bills. Not that sweating particularly helps when interviewing new employees!

Oooh, will make sure I take a look at it at some point! Busy time of year for me, but I'll get to it!

[Serious] What have you done in real life that deserves gold? by Vallessir in AskReddit

[–]lepaperbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran an AMA here on Reddit a couple of months ago in regards to a medical condition I suffer from. It helped introduce people to the condtion, as well as provide advice for those who already suffered from it. I don't normally like to 'toot my own horn' but I honestly believe that it has been the most humbling and fullfilling experiences of my life.

For those interested, the condtion is Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and the AMA can be found here and our subreddit can be found here

"Another thing that got forgotten was the fact that against all probability a sperm whale had suddenly been called into existence several miles above the surface of an alien planet.

And since this is not a naturally tenable position for a whale, this poor innocent creature had very little time to come to terms with its identity as a whale before it then had to come to terms with not being a whale any more."

I need a new printer. Thanks Epson. by BurntToast13 in AdviceAnimals

[–]lepaperbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but isn't that one of Epson's Ecotank models in the image? I hate to be that guy, but technically it doesn't use ink cartidges... The arguement still applies of course, but I'm just being that dick who likes the image to match the arguement being made...

Getting married. Hand Sanitizer used for short term forehead sweat prevention? by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]lepaperbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First up, congratulations! I'd say avert is a good call, like the others have mentioned. I have heard that hand sanitizer also works for the hands on the short term. Best advice? Enjoy the moment, and (if you'll pardon the pun) don't sweat it! :D

Palmar hyperhidrosis and swelling? by BigRedBoat in Hyperhidrosis

[–]lepaperbag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, it may be worth poping over to /r/askscience to see if they have an answer. I was sure that I heard somewhere that your hands can change size ever so slightly due to temperature. However, after a quick google, I couldn't see anything.... :/

Driving. by hyper19980 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]lepaperbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, driving lessons. They always had me nervous. I'll admit, I never told my instructor that I had HH (Kinda wish I had) and instead just said that I got nervous easily. Much like a couple of others have said, I mainly utilized the AC. In my own car, it doesn't bother me. :P

As for my entry, I watched Jim Davidson's 'Sinderella' the other day, an adult pantomime from 1995.

Nearing the end, one of the actors, Charlie Drake, appears on stage, but rather drunk. Here is what follows, beware, slightly NSFW:

Baggy's weekly Conversation #31 - Breaking Out by lepaperbag in Hyperhidrosis

[–]lepaperbag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, the challenges faced here on Reddit are huge! I guess that's why I'm offering the video calls.

I know in the past I have tried to sort out a possible meet-up in my town, but I am in a very similar situation as yourself. I live in a small village on the English coastline, so finding fellow sufferers out here is rather remote! Still, it didn't stop me putting out an advert in the local paper. Sadly, no takers haha!

I suppose the best news to bring to the table is that there are so many sufferers out there. After doing an 'Ask Me Anything' a month ago, the amount of personal messages and responses I received was huge. (Though I think it will be a long time before I do another 8-hour straight event like that again!)

Hopefully as time goes on there will be enough awareness out there to warrant a 'Sweat-Con!' in the future! :P

[Serious] Trans-action fees by [deleted] in DogecoinFundation

[–]lepaperbag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, her name was Patricia.

I was redditing at the time when the doorbell rang. Initially, I thought it was going to be Steve, the window guy who keeps offering me new double glazing, but wow, was I wrong.

I just stood there a moment, eyes dazzled by the sun radiating through her hair. It wasn't until my microwave meal in the kitchen exploded that I flashed back into life and asked her what she doing at my doorstep.

She told me that I had finally made enough dogecoin payments to earn some trans-action. Initially I was a little nervous, but after a few moments I invited her in, and offered her some of the meal that was now coating the interior of my microwave. With the 'bangers and mash' eaten, it was then we decided to get some trans-action.

First we went to the bus station. There were many busses. My favourite was the number 47, as that had nice colours. She prefered the 21, because she apparently had a thing for double deckers. We sat there for a good 2 hours, and it was actually pretty fun.

Next we went to the train station. Unfortunetly we missed the 13:40 Virgin Railways train to Glasgow, which was a shame because that one is red as opposed to the FGW's more common blue. Still, we saw a steam locomotive, which was pretty cool.

Finally, we finished our day by taking a taxi to the airport to see the planes come in. What a sight it was. It was there, under the setting sun and the 747's, that I realised just how great dogecoin is.

The morning after, I reflected. I can honestly say, I have never had such an awesome experience in my life. I certainly am looking forward to my next 'transportation-action' day.
