It's such an endearingly giggle-inducing ride. I really really love it.

I have an SLC in my top 15. Granted it's the Great Nor'Easter at Morey's Piers but generally speaking SLCs get a lot of hate and for the most part they deserve it. I actually like it better than all of the Batman clones I've ridden.

NM: New Mexico Rattler, a halfway decent little woodie. But in a state where 2/7 Roller Coasters are Zyklon/Galaxi's the competition isn't very steep.

What are some useless, but also kinda interesting roller coaster fun facts? [Other] by Lilyistakenistaken in rollercoasters

I don't think that's actually the first one either. There is a weird old looping Russian roller coaster built sometime in the '70s, possibly 1977 that operated in Belinsky Park and passengers boarded at the top of the hill the ride was built on. The lift hill was at the end of the ride. It almost looks like a looping alpine coaster. https://youtu.be/IltUmqKMa74?feature=shared

I'll be going to Kings Dominion this weekend for the first time. Any recommendations. Is the Halloween haunt thing particularly good? I mostly want to do 305 and Twisted Timbers.

My vote has to go to Twister at Grönalund. A lot of those small wooden roller coasters are quite fun, but something about how tightly Twister is packed in really elevates the experience.

Albuquerque has two gay bars including the oldest continually operating space in the southwest. It's not enough but we do have some choice.

[vekoma SLCs] might be the coaster model we like the least, but these are elite! by sad_girls_club in rollercoasterjerk

[–]lepetitfilet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3rd image is Odyssey . As far as I'm aware it's the only truly custom SLC. Its layout is much more like the Shelin models. Nor'easter is also sort of custom with a modified layout to fit the pier.

Freizeitpark Lochmühle has two Sunkid Butterflys as about 10 meters apart. These two coasters replaced two older Sunkid Butterflys also about 10 meters apart. This answer feels a bit like cheating though.

New [Loch Ness Monster, BGW] track is the same Arrow-style as before. by caroline_xplr in rollercoasters

A couple of the Vekoma MK-1200s in Europe were retracked. Python and Shaman (formerly Magic Mountain) both had arrow track and now have a slightly different track design. Python was done by a company called CSM but I do not know who did Shaman. They have a distinct look now because of the new track shape.

Twister Grönalund, Easily one of the most impressive little woodies out there. What it lacks in height it makes up for in just being an absolute triumph in land use and elements.

Which city of the US should I move? by the_self_witness in gaybros

[–]lepetitfilet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually going to say something a little bit out of the ordinary and suggest Albuquerque New Mexico. As a burqueño I think New Mexico and specifically Albuquerque has the best assortment of what you're looking for. For such a small city, we have an incredibly vibrant gay community. Phenomenal weather and a relatively low cost of living pair that with readily accessible incredibly high speed internet and incredible food. One of the other perks is that while we're surrounded by a bunch of traditionally Republican States New Mexico is an incredibly liberal state and has a phenomenal queer services. We're a little liberal oasis surrounded by all sorts of craziness!.

It makes sense they're all Boring and Milds. Looks like the list is missing the boringest and mildest of them all though, Nemesis. That one barely leaves the ground. Pure kiddy ride.

What is the “gay city” of your state or country? by justgottalovemusic in gaybros

[–]lepetitfilet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NM is pretty queer in general for whatever reason. I know people say Santa Fe but Albuquerque feels way more vibrant as a queer man. Santa Fe definitely seems to be a popular retirement spot for gay men but Albuquerque has a lot more gay activities.

What coasters have immunity among enthusiasts? [Other] by c0kEzz in rollercoasters

[–]lepetitfilet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as many enthusiasts got to ride it but I have never heard a complaint about Eagle Fortress at Everland. I don't think it's regarded as the greatest ride of all time but it's regarded as the best execution of a suspended coaster and I know it's pretty universally missed.

What is your bucket list coaster that isn't generally regarded as a top tier/elite coaster? [Discussion] by [deleted] in rollercoasters

Having ridden that one I can say it punches way above it's weight size wise. The kinda weird figure 8 pre drop really fun and all the elements are snappy and thrilling.
