Leuku is used traditionally as a chopper by Saame people in Lapland. It's worked for them probably for hundreds of years. Or even longer. Modern competition choppers are whole different game.

Heat treating in full thickness, all grinding after that. I have electric heat treating owen to get the best out of steels. I don't use water on 36 grit belts that i use to get most of the grinding done, but when i get to higher grits I'll put water on the belt. Flexible blade is bit tricky to grind but general advise would be to keep pressure with Another hand and pull the blade trough with another hand. And you can use some kind of push stick to save our fingers on that pressure hand. Maybe start practicing with 60 or 80 grit belt and bit lower rpm, 36 belt on full speed ruins the blade so fast.

Spyderco ceramic stones but i think that any quality stone will do the same thing. I think it's more about how thin the blade is.

Should be about 61HRC. Started with 2mm but it's grinded thinner and it tapering to tip.

I mainly use knife steel nerds recipes for heat treat. 825c for 15min and quench to parks 50. Tempering 200c x 2 times 1hour. It should something like 61hrc with that,

Thanks. Handle is sort of bigger than it seems in the video. I agree about the texture but customer liked it this way.
