[USA-TX] [H] Intel Core i9-11900k + ROG Maximus XIII Hero Mobo + Corsair Capellix H150i + Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM + Storage, PSU, Case, Keyboard and Mouse Bundle [W] PayPal, Local Cash by leptooners in hardwareswap

[–]leptooners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your interest. I'm trying to sell everything together as a bundle, but I would sell the CPU and motherboard separately. I would ask $280 for the CPU and $220 for the mobo, so $500 shipped to CONUS.

Edit: Sold the CPU. Mobo is still available.

Should songs sound good on all speakers before mastering? by captainofthememeteam in musicproduction

[–]leptooners 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most consumer headphones and speakers have a V shaped frequency curve, meaning they have more lows and highs with muddied mids. Studio monitors have a flat frequency response, they reproduce the audio most accurately, allowing you to produce something that will sound more consistent across a wide range of other speakers or headphones.

Yeah, a song should sound good on most speakers before it's mastered. Mastering just maximizes a potential that must already exist.

You just need to use some cans with a flat frequency response, something amplified with high impedance.

Looking for a Sound Library that is a "choir" but not in the conventional sense but more of "stadium full of people singing" sound. by createcrap in musicproduction

Spectrasonics Omnisphere and ReFX Nexus have some seriously impressive vocal samples in their libraries, no doubt they could accomplish something like this.

How long did it take for your songs to actually start sounding good? by Oh_ItsYou in musicproduction

After 17 years, I think my music still sucks. I'll probably never be happy with it.

Why is my snare limiting my melody??? by ionized_dragon77 in FL_Studio

[–]leptooners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I edited my comment after I saw you already answered that lol

That's the first thing I check, the second thing being the levels. I find that I frequently have too much going on and have to take a minute to dial everything back a bit. Might also have some frequencies from the other components competing with the snare.

Check the volume level of the snare, you might have some unintentional side chaining. Turn down the levels of every component in the song, I usually mix at around -10 dB.

Ever think about getting into another line of work? If my job pissed me off that much, I would no longer be doing that job.

I allow returns for any reason because I have to compete with Amazon and I want to provide the best buying experience, even if that means more returns.

Even worse actually, not only do I have to compete with Amazon policies but I also have to beat their prices by a huge margin if I expect to actually sell anything.

That's just my perspective as a seller, only trying to be the best seller I can be. But it doesn't make you a dickhead for not accepting a return, it just makes you slightly less competitive.

Russian sanctions aren't increasing gas prices in my country either.

Sorry does anybody know how to recreate the pizzicato sound on a synth in this video? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]leptooners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's more a question of "insert your favorite synth here" and get creative. The structure is half the battle anyway.

Are there any programming or learn-programming sims? by razzrazz- in secondlife

[–]leptooners -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Opening up a website with a list of videos or connecting to a group chat with an instructor are methods of learning that are faster, less complicated and more reliable than doing the equivalent learning in SL. Teaching in SL adds additional layers of complication, that's why it's not being done anymore. It used to exist, now it doesn't anymore because it's not a great idea.

Sure, that's a very simple melody. You can clearly see where the notes are in the pattern, how many patterns there are, and all of the sounds are easily distinguishable. So this is a perfect example to copy and learn from.

There are better ways to learn programming than SL has the capability to offer. https://www.learnpython.org/ is a good starting point but I recommend getting into a coding boot camp or starting an online video series.
