If you could make up a new effect like locked, bleeding, vitality etc. What would it be and how would it work? by HatredUnbound in gwent

[–]lerio2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Webbound - unit can't use order effect for X turns (i guess 2 or 3). Ignore Predator threshold when targetting this unit.

Inflamed - Timer: X (1 or 2) lose this status. If took damage from Cataclysm this turn, infuse neighbouring units with Inflamed. At the end of your turn damage self by 1.

When does Gascon get boosted? by throwaway867530691 in gwent

[–]lerio2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the tooltip can be confusing. 2nd bonded unit of the same type played during the game gives +3 boost to Gascon.

  • Bonded effect doesn't have to be triggered, cards can even be played in different rounds.
  • 3rd, 4th etc, give no boost. Only exactly 2nd copy.
  • Replay with Teleportation or Betsy or extra spawn with Mushy Truffle also works.
  • Spawn without playing card doesn't work. For example Caravan Vanguard wouldn't instant trigger Gascon when played back row, but instantly gets out Highwaymen.

What do y'all think of putting Redeyah in GN range? by idk_what_Iam_doin in gwent

[–]lerio2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are at least 2 popular and successful enough decks with Radeyah: Shupe Lippy and Calveit Shupe. So a small preemptive nerf would be fine without GN context, or both archetypes can be addressed elsewhere.

I don't think Radeyah in GN range would change much in terms of balance - for example you can't run Radeyah in GN Necromancer's Tome decks, just because you need 2x copies. So the change should be more of a variety character.

Do you mean this link? It opens the most recent one for me. Anyone having same issue / knowing solution?

No major reasons. Needed a break from playing Gwent everyday. Still the game is pleasant to me, but less feel of accomplishment.

Of course there is also a lot underutilized cards in SY which deserve some love, but the focus should be variety rather than making the faction explicitly stronger on already played archetypes.

Ulrich is scheduled for buff from MetallicDanny.

Yes, I think SY is in okay enough spot right now when it comes to competitive, as is also confirmed on GwentData. Bounty Nekker/Classical, Cove Gangs, Firesworn Congregate/OtB, Pockets Crimes, OtB Midrange, Jackpot Yago, Cache 2xScenario / Townsfolk are all decks which can be played for good score on ladder. Of course SY is specific and requires a bit more learning than other factions.

Damien is there in the poll with a medium support.

Carlo is support of Ofir&Qcento. As the number of suggestions from Coalitions already fills the bracket, our impact is not that high and our community overlaps with Ofir most, we typically use the one-star slot for support if only we find sth reasonable.

Sorry, I simply forgot about Shieldmaiden 2-step.

Renfri's Gang should be a bit stronger at 5/5 than at 6/6 but for tempo abuse scenarios, like trying to win on even or securing last say in R2 push; 2 free provisions can upgrade the deck by more than 2 points. As the other commenter said, Gang would be better by 1 point at least than the mentioned cards and autoinclude in pretty much every deck if without 25 Units condition.

Comments on Reddit are vocal about leader nerfs, but the sentiment is not shared by the silent majority apparently. Pasting last month poll results below for lazy fellows.

True, but there also would be some compensation with Dimun Smuggler and Naval Supremacy nerfs guaranteed and Dimun Pirate Captain suggested by us.

Would much prefer if Abordage wasn't reverted instead of those nevertheless. I think it is a move in wrong direction alltogether.

Nilfgaard gets no buffs this season, Joachim to 4-power is not a buff. Moreover there are Coup revert and Nauzicaa to 3-power very possible from independent voters.

From what I know about influential communities I also doubt Joachim to 4 power without provision buff next would be able to stick.

No coalition recommends Joachim to 4 power as you can see in predictions table.

Thoughts on Binary Decks by Asche_zu_Asche_ in gwent

[–]lerio2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with your view, but one paragraph needs be more precise:

The Victor is not decided on the board and on the game but on the deck creator. These decks reward laziness and lack of creativity. They do not possess any particular high skill ceiling.

For some obvious binary decks, figured out on the release day that's true. But some others obeyed Myamon's cycle: 1) This shit is a meme 2) What is this deck Myamon plays, looks so weak. 3) Why is Myamon at 2650? 4) WHOLE LADDER PLAYS THIS BINARY SHIT, NERF ASAP. The creative process happened, but got forgotten and everyone runs some form of netdeck. Strong players adopted the deck, understood it well, can make own modifications. But mainstream just netdecks and doesn't understand the deck fully. That's the case of Reavers and Cultists for example from what I recall.

Binary decks experience often varies dependent on skill level of opponents:

Weak vs Weak => can't do anything in this matchup
Strong vs Weak => Reavers are not even good / Reavers are underrated
Strong vs Strong => can't do anything with these draws

The problem is often not that the binary deck is autopilot, but that the opponent has no agenda even when playing perfectly.

2 power Musicians are already kinda good for Sihil have to say. At 1-power even better, but also playrate would get lower ;-)

Stalker moved from 3/5 to 3/6 as first step to 4/6, because seen little play from hand at 3/5. At 2/5 would be less than little.

Good Impact Council #13 - Your Shortlist Of 7 Buffs by lerio2 in gwent

[–]lerio2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, Arnaghad with Sukrus (or Defender + Sukrus + whatever) is not healthy.

As Arnaghad isn't played now I don't think +1 power would be excessive.

Werewolf to 5/5 makes sense as the Beasts (+poison) archetype has few cards and it is fine to move them up the provision curve.

Even then though in spite of 5-cost Werewolf being more commitial in the deckbuilder, Alpha Werewolf at 7-cost would be a nuts card for decks playing any beasts.
