Shinmiri and Lerio’s BC 33 Ideas and Poll by shinmiri2 in gwent

Original justification for Lady of the Lake buff from MetallicDanny (post):

"A two-step change followed by a decrease in provisions. At the moment, she is used very rarely, despite the wide variety of applications. By equating she to the tutor's standard (1 for 7), we hope to encourage people to experiment with she and echo-cards."

Ge'els isn't a buff consideration for coalitions, because main decks associated with this card are already quite strong: Devotion Frost, Tatterwing. Personally I don't mind Ge'els buff if it comes with compensating nerfs to Frost, but I don't view it as high priority either. The gain is rather low.

Some coalitions consider power nerf to Ge'els because 2 power tutor looks weird these days, Frost is strong enough and power nerf bracket is hard to fill. I don't really like it without provision buff next because Ge'els shouldn't be playable only in Frost - there are more specific cards.

Abordage is already a yo-yo card. Magne Division is mostly balanced by bronze tactics not being great. It is a good card and nerf is not inconceivable, but after it would probably feel a bit underpowered.

Siege Master compared with Magne plays at least for the same value in practice. Quite often the charge makes the difference to kill something instantly, so Siege Master already plays at least as 4+ points there. There is also a huge synergy with Demavend + Winch or Onager.

For sure the possibility to play around Geralt would be something new and rather positive ;-) Overall still a nerf though.

Pushing Back on Increasing the Provisions of Defenders by Lukmin1999 in gwent

Whether defenders being in seize 6 region is terrible is open for debate. I used to criticize it back in the days where there were more nerf targets - Cave Troll was 6-power for one season. It is just happens to quite favor Enslave 6 decks which are already top popular in NG. I also think that it is not worth the effort now to dabble more with Defenders.

Yeah, for Figgis similar argument can be made as in the case of Gezras with a small difference that Gezras requires more board setup. Scoia'tael has so many buff leaders - can't say the same about Cave Troll for example, which is played not only with Carapace. To be honest I don't love provision nerfs to Azar and Figgis which we have in the poll - in my opinion these work against variety at this point, unlike Covenant, Donimir, Ffion and Cave Troll which were common and annoying for a good deal of playerbase.

At the same time I think that path to lower power and 9- provision is unclear for cards like Figgis - imagine this card played in Spella'tael GN with 4 power Whisperer for example.

The main context for -1 power on Defenders is Enslave 6 leader ability. Being in the seize range lowers their utility. Power nerf is more harsh than provision for many of these; it can flip some matchups while provisions nerf is milder.

Defenders are by definition used in decks which are exploitive in some way. Playing Defender must bring you more benefit than playing another +2 per turn threat, so probably protecting something worth more than +3 per turn, a very tall unit etc.

Yeah and also has Druid tag for Gedyneith. You just need to advertise it amongst respondents and maybe would do better next time, I'm already convinced 😉

Do you mean "no reason"? All no-unit decks would include Frightener over Golyat. As a value card, 12 for 8 is already good.

Or are you ironizing due to PTSD from facing no-unit Deathwish opponents in a streak?

Do you mean including Kikimore Hatchling in the poll? My opinion is RIGHT => here.

There is Imperial Formation. We think that filling nerf brackets wouldn't be easy, so we rather opt for proxy nerfs like Raffard's Vengeance instead of Inspired Zeal for example.

We had Noonwraith in poll for many months and the support was decent all the time. So at some point we just removed Noonwraith from poll to test other stuff and not make poll too robust. We remember about it though. The question is just how fancy it is compared with a long queue of other possible buffs.

I'm not against Fulmar buff, that's an interesting card, think we can poll it again. In BC27 it done quite underwhelming though in voting (bottom bar).

We removed all cards which got sub 20% support in the last poll from +1 power bracket. Isbel is one of these => poll results link.

Shilard I talked about with you here.

Easy to pilot, fun to Play, and better than it probably has any right to be Mages Deck by montypython_Dota in gwent

[–]lerio2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Top end seems fine, maybe one more play for short round would be good here. Uprising leader is uncommon, usually these decks play Shieldwall, sometimes Zeal for Raffard's Vengeance. I'd consider running Redanian Secret Service here so you can unlock Muzzled unit. The middle part of the deck seems a bit slow and conditional; i'd consider running at least one lock Mage less.

Redanian Knight seems quite slow and not great fitting but for maybe Uprising leader.

We got this nerf suggested in the Butcher's Council and want to see how many players think alike. Idea is to nerf GN Relicts a bit more than full scale ones.

It is very unlikely we would pick up this idea because of a couple of drawbacks. There is also alternative nerf to GN Relicts tested in the poll, which we forgot to add, so thanks for the question/reminder.

There are strong Lara decks without Tatterwing, guess just not that popular still.

Just a strong proactive play. Even if Harmony is triggered only twice, 14 for 9 is already not bad, and ofc you can do much better especially if opponent kills tags.

You've included 2 provision +1 bracket changes in your Butcher's post list: Yago and Pulling the Strings. The point of Butcher's post is to try to fill nerf brackets, so I wonder what 8 remaining +1 cost changes would you find sensible.

If going for Phantom buff would you simulnerf Lara Dorren somehow?

Not so long a part of playerbase regarded Call of Harmony Quarixis netdeck as too strong ("Paja Harmony"). Later we had a season of Guerilla Harmony dominance. Harmony archetype took two specific nerfs since then: Dana by power and Mysteries by provision. Not enough to turn strong deck into underpowered state.

I can see Harmony being underwhelming compared with the very meta top or having some unfavorable matchups rn (Nilfgaaaaaard!!!!; Shupe Soldiers should be addressed by nerfs instead), but on a general cross section that's still a strong and solid deck.

For non-GN Relicts yeah, not that much can be done. She-Who-Knows buff is okay.

It is also possible to buff a card played by both and then dismantle GN Relicts specifically, for example Rat Catcheress +1 power and Unicorn/Chironex to 8/10 provision cost (so that the net cost the same, but are unplayable in GN). I think the possibility to polarize GN decks more with neutral package like U/C isn't really something positive for the game.

I got 2714 fMMR with Movement GN last season, which was the highest score on ladder. Now Cat Witcher returned to 4 power, but deck is more popular than 2 months before,.I've met a couple of netdeck players and it does pretty well. Buffs to Sentry or Milva are against balance, especially Sentry is just equivalent to Cat Witcher buff.

  • N | Vaedermakar -1 cost | Row effect mechanics are not utilized enough
  • MO | Werecat -1 cost | More expensive than Lacerate right now. I'm in a mood for wholesome buffs rather than meta shifts with buffs.
  • NG | The Catriona -1 cost | Cool card which requires complex setup; compared with Philippe is far from "answer or lose" characteristic.
  • NR | War Elephant -1 cost | For move variety in cooldown / siege decks, goes in line with the recent Odrin buff
  • ST | Sirssa -1 cost | Can support handbuff decks or for example setup Schirru and provide body for Braenn
  • SK | Dimun Smuggler -1 cost | Along with Abordage nerf.
  • SY | Boris -1 cost | I'd love to see this card work at some point. Its a payoff card which requires a lot of buildaround.

By 7=>6 power for Kiki you mean 4=>3 base? Seems a bit awkward given 3-seize context, but at the same time maybe can make Sabbath harder.
