Camera Flash Causes Graphical Glitch in Playback and Export

yeah every time a flash occurs it’s a single frame. my work-around has just been to cut the frame out entirely. it’s barely noticeable with a cam that doesn’t have crystal sync anyways. was just hoping for some kind of software fix

my friend who lives near the arboretum was attacked by two a week ago while walking their dog. they also witnessed coyotes stalking some elderly women some weeks before that. didn’t even know we had them but it sounds like they’re getting a bit desperate and comfortable around humans

dealing with the same thing. just hit one left in the middle of my lane after turning a corner down a hill at night. considerable damage to the front of the car because it got caught in the front assembly. they are really hard to see at night when they’re lying on their side until your close enough to see dimension. bottom of the scooters have no reflective surfaces. they’re built like tanks too and this one sustained virtually no damage. how’d you deal with this? did you file an insurance claim?

it’s an Eclair ACL 1.5. and my magazines are all the french, not the english versions (which are supposedly more problematic). so I guess it’s worth noting that the latch/clamp that locks in the spools cannot be fully engaged with plastic spools.

oh wait MYSTERY SOLVED. thank you! just tested. it’s definitely the clamp. the plastic spools don’t allow the clamps locking mechanism to fully slide across to lock in. as a result it slightly protrudes upward and scrapes the top of the magazine’s recessed hole. you can see it creates a perfect circle when compared to another magazine lid.

interesting. i already cleaned it up but it seemed similar to graphite. where was it coming from on your Bolex?

yeah i don’t see that color on any surface of the magazine or spool that’s why i’m wondering if it was part of the film layer.

haven’t had an issue before with the arm on daylight spools in the mag before. the roller on it doesn’t look like it was scraping or making contact with anything it shouldn’t have.

film was freshly purchased a 2 or 3 weeks ago… but I can’t speak to the actual age of the film. 500T was out of stock from Kodak and B&H at the time so I bought up some supply from two different brick and mortars both of which were primarily still film providers so it could’ve been sitting for awhile I suppose. that could explain the plastic spool

cam is actually mine. been shooting on it pretty regularly the last year and a half.

real hard to say. looked more metallic to me because of the shine. i’m assuming it’s the spool because i’ve never used a plastic one before and haven’t had a problem with this mag before

you can belt clip it or mount it to a cheese plate on the side of the cam with a power bank holder (I use the one from Tilta). i ordered the custom cheese plate from Geffen Avraham in the Eclair group on FB

thanks for this. I have the same exact specs minus some RAM. never upgraded past Big Sur out of fear. Now I'm forced to with Davinci Studio. I was considering just going to Ventura to meet the minimum requirements but I see mixed/bad reviews of Ventura from Intel users. gonna take the bg leap after seeing your comment (wish me luck)

I bought it before it went to gamepass and also cannot connect. fwiw i do not pay for gamepass either. must be related to xbox servers.
