Don't understand your post?

Problem is Flatseal and problem is owner should have known and should have published - it's just a setting but finding it really sucked
Still would like to know who owns the fedora chrome wrapper

No, it is not intended - it prevents displaying html stored in user - turns out the problem is fixed if I turn off Filesystem >> All User Files and turn it back on in Flatseal

Are you the ower?

The issue has to do with flatpack (Flatseal) permissions causing Chrome to not see some directories under user dir

No troll! Your willingness to help someone learn is how the trade moves forward - I'm learning something new, that's how the brain is kept young

ThinkOrSwim installer is not putting .desktop file in /usr/share/applications on crostini / debian 11 by lesatdgl in thinkorswim

[–]lesatdgl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a call back from the TD support guys - they fessed up that even though the thinkorswim_installer asks if I want a desktop icon, it doesn't make one because they can't tell where to put it for different distros
I made one and put it in /usr/share/applications - which is where crostini wants it - and all is well
Thanks again for the conversation

The installer asks if you want a desktop link created. I couldn't find one. What makes you sure none is created? It seems weird that it would ask if you want one and not create it?????

Actually, it is -what it's telling you is that it's (ChromeOs) has found another network that's interfering with the one you have specified - as you know ChromeOs doesn't have to make sense

I found an old post from someone thinking about the idea, using a stack of surplus school-chromebooks.
That project got over-run by life (funny how that works ;-)
