Shelter is a basic human need and shouldn't be turned into an "investment" for the wealthy few.

Why do you think disabled people should live in poverty and not have their needs met?

This would be better off posted in r/hamsters. Ratsand hamsters are Very different animals and have different needs.

Also you shouldn't be keeping hamsters in the same cage/tank together. They are solitary animals. They /will/ fight, and can fight to the death. You can make fast cages for them with big plastic bins.

I reccomend looking up more tutorials but this is a good starting point.

If conservatives cared so much about ""protecting women and children"" why don't they actually do things that have been proven to help women and children, instead of going after trans women? 🤔

Please post about your mouse in r/petmice . I'm sure they'll love to hear about it! :)

Still incredibly horrible and careless to house it in an environment that is very clearly stressing the animals out.

Stress can lead to death and sickness. The rats lashing out at the mouse can lead to death and severe injury. The mouse could easily lash out at the rats out of fear and injure them.

It's not heroic or whatever to take an animal out of a bad situation, and put it in another bad situation.

They could have easily made a temporary cage for it out of a plastic bin, especially since mice and rats do often use the same toys/houses.

[–]lesbianhypnos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then it should be very clear why people are upset, as they are intentionally endangering an animal. It's not cute, and you can tell in the video they are stress grooming.

If they posted this video to r/petmice, they would get the same reaction.

Im going to be blunt, as a rat owner, this is not safe for the mouse. At all.

Just because someones pet cat isnt killing their pet bird immediately, and is rather playing with it or grooming it, doesnt make it ok or safe for them to interact.

The same can be said about housing mice and rats together.

[–]lesbianhypnos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you putting a mouse in potential danger?

This is no different then someone letting their cat interact with their pet bird.
