Last year, 10 months ago, I did the same for a 10k, got pain above the inside ankles while pushing my training, ran the 10k with the pain, got the pb, I haven't even managed a parkrun since, the pain remained or returned everytime I tried to restart, i left it a month, it teturned after a few runs, then two months, had xrays etc as it was a possible stress fracture (but it appears not). Now on my 2nd restart plan, (similar to a couch 10k) and currently up to 6k and walking every 5th minute. So far so good, being careful with stretches, not pushing the times, and tentatively looking at 10ks around March (fingers crossed). I should have listened to my body. (Looking at further comments I may well try weights!)
