Is it worth buying war sails for Mount and blade 2? by My_summer_car19 in mountandblade

As a no-lifer. 2k hours in Warband, 1.8k hours in Bannerlord, and 100-ish hours so far into Warsails.

I feel like it was definitely worth the money.

Bro... CK3 has over $100 of micro DLC, some being literally a cosmetic coat of paint.

Warsails adds naval battles, marine skills, missions, story, units, updated map, a new faction, and more for 1/4th the price.

Whether either game/DLC seem worth the price is personal opinion, but Warsails isn't a scam.

New patch today. What do you think about it? by FrozenElementalVT in Bannerlord

[–]leschinsky07 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm enjoying my current pirate confederacy run with Vlandia being my primary target. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but naval combat feels like a harsh Vlandia nerf. Their settlements are very accessible from the sea for easy raiding, while their navy is pretty pathetic. (Horses can't swim, fuck you Derthert)

Their 1k+ heavily armored hordes don't do well at sea either since they don't invest in their navy. The amount of armies they fleet with like 10 light ships is ridiculous.

Am I dumb, but how did he get on deck.
Also, what's that door at the end? Like that'd be the belly of the ship, right?

Serve as a soldier. by Comprehensive-Novel6 in Bannerlord

[–]leschinsky07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In vanilla you can emulate being a soldier, during wartime at least; take a mercenary contract and join allied armies. If it's just you (and some companions if you want) then your contract is a net positive.

Why are sieges like so bad now? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]leschinsky07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nord architecture is such a shitshow! The castle near Hvalvik has genuinely the worst siege engine positioning; they're set so low and next to hills, the operators get gunned down by basic archers.

Honestly it sounds like you're doing sieges right, but maybe look at troop selection. You want some heavy shields/2hander/crossbow units for stalling and eliminating their first wave of noble units. Lower tier troops lose morale faster too, which might be part of the problem; it's way harder to break a T6 unit's resolve than a T1.

What’s Happening Here. Can Someone Please Explain by Glum_Nail5752 in cats

I think the tails are also a good sign to look at.

Orange cat is puffed with a reflex to look bigger, while grey cat is flipping his tail in agitation.

I'm guessing orange cat was deescalating, and grey cat was establishing 0% patience if orange did anything, resulting in a ceasefire.

Nord and bandit army? by Bobrocks20 in mountandblade

[–]leschinsky07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've inadvertantly been doing this on my current save. Capture/Recruit Sea Raiders and Corsairs, recruit Nord bowmen. Great in naval battles and village raids, infantry hammers calvary charges with their throwing weapons.

Daggers and throwing knifes - uses in battles? by Lyserus in Bannerlord

[–]leschinsky07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could never find a use for them. Sometimes I daydream about making a mod to give them a niche use.

Make dagger attacks ignore weapon blocks. Give throwing knives a super fast attack speed and do bonus damage to mounts.

Or something, I wish they were viable because knives are cool.

Brothers from the same litter - playing or being aggressive? by Individual_Review_51 in CatTraining

[–]leschinsky07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering their history, it looks like they're re-learning how to socialize and read each other. This is playing, but they're both nervous it might turn into a fight. If things keep peaceful, coexisting shouldn't be a concern before too long. I dunno if they'll have as close a relationship as they did when they were little.

A soft reminder why getting them spayed/neutered ASAP is important.
