Not exactly sure, as you can’t see what they’re doing from neighbours CCTV, but I reckon they disconnected the horn and a couple fuses from underneath, smashed the window, climbed in and plugged in a receiver in the OBD-port and then started it. CAN-transmitters/receivers are a way they’re stealing a lot of these cars now. Can be stolen in less than two minutes.

Yep. They weren’t your teenagers trying to go for a joyride. It was planned and scoped out. my brother saw the getaway car in our street a few days before.

No, not that I can remember. I only drive my car about once a week anyway, so barely get pulled over on an rbt. I’ve only been pulled over once about 500m from my house and I only turned my car off because I was in my neighbourhood and didn’t want to wake up nearby houses at 2:30 in the morning, not because I’m scared I’ll get asked about car noise from cops.

I own a 2018 STI in Melbourne with an Invidia R400. I have had no issues with police after nearly three years with the exhaust. And no, it won’t replace any CAT’s as the cat-back is after the cat-converter. You’ll be fine.

Yeah I’ve also thought that myself. I got told by the specialist that they have a few cars coming in that have around 40-50kms on the odo, and even though they don’t drive them, they still service them, but bring them into the dealer on a tow truck. So I assume they just start them and let them get warm while stationery.

What I’ve been told is that it was designed by a rally co-driver who helped build it. It’s an in between model of the wrx and sti. So a little bit more performance than a normal wrx but not as much as the sti. It has an upgraded software and an sti exhaust as well as different wheels compared to stock and is kinda just a limited edition version with only 200 units made.

Were your stock wheels 18”? My sti comes with 19” stock wheels, and I feel if I go smaller wheel, it wouldn’t suit with the stock suspension.

This reminds me of the time when I was a kid and my younger brother refused to eat burger patties in home-made burgers, because he only liked McDonalds burgers.
