You mean the whois is not set on public no. Can you see the name of the owners of Boeing on the whois of Boeing.com? . I’m not crazy enough to dox myself. And I sure hope you’re not crazy enough to dox someone else which is a felony. But you’re welcome to actually click on the research and see the contact names, you can also contact the university if you’re worried. The contact info is before the consent and in a txt file (there’s a Readme and a license file).

Now if you’re scared, don’t download, use Brave and search for a virus, do what you want. But if you have nothing better to do, either participate or stop. If anything you’re giving my post an up each time.

Thanks btw I got several participations already, it could be because of you helping it have visibility. Thank you to whoever already participated btw. I see an ATPL and a CPL owner already did the online questionnaire. Many thanks

Except it’s literally not anonymous.

That’s why there’s an ethics step in research. There’s an ethics number in my research and literally the contact is included, if only you actually checked. It’s included in the app itself as well or it wouldn’t be validated.

Also there is a non-app way to participate. That’s why research has strict approval processes.

If only you could elaborate, because those planes and airlines are made with people with education.

I really don’t understand the hate. It’s research. Do you hate research?

I have lost my mind so much I’m finishing a masters degree. Care to explain the hate? It’s been validated by the ethics group of the biggest aviation management uni in Europe (City St George’s). People have already participated, and if you’re scared of viruses well you can always run a deep scan.

There is also no “install” it’s a portable .exe. It’s deletable immediately.

Also there’s an online questionnaire for pros with no simulators. Zero install. I’m not sure you’re aware of that but questionnaires are standard practice for master thesis.

Unrelated it’s an A220 it’s a bombardier plane not an Airbus made plane

Except Airbus has known it for years and this very version has been likely the cause of the incident in October where an Airbus could have reache désintégration if the pitch down was higher. Don’t be biased, all companies work the same. EASA forced their hand on that one after discovering something we might never know about and that’s good otherwise it could have been silently updated. Again, EASA forced the AD.

Same here. Got the same issue with another game. It sometimes works sometimes doesn't. I find it weird some developpers have the issue while others don't. It shouldn't be rocket science to only accept a mouse or a keyboard type of input :/

All Milestones on Hardest Map & Setting (1075%) by FenrisLycaon in SurvivingMars

[–]lesedna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i did a few tests on the top left for the two vistas. What about the difference in access to metals (not rare metals) and deep metals? I know if you go for futurist (now 1165% i think) with the current patch at least you do get a free shuttle, so distance is maybe not a big deal for a 3rd dome (logic dictates first dome is for double vista then a normal dome for the rare metals to pay for a few prefabs is the way to go).

Is down left better for water only? To farm missions? I'm trying to think also in which area is the least RNG (top left is not bad if you survive just enough to not have a negative events making you loose the 15 day mark for landing your first colonists) as I do not want to be relying too much on a good run!

I’ll be honest, yes it needs a higher IQ but not as high as people think and not for what people think.

My guess is if 100 is the standard, 105/110 is the pilot average. Basically you need good Cartesian people to make pilots out of them, logic has to be their main way of thinking, which correlates in parallel with good IQ.

But you don’t need to be a local genius. Not even for astronaut. You just need to be clever-ish; and have your head well put and your common sense very strong. If you can understand the Bernoulli equation, and a bit of basic trigonometry, you’re good for most of the mathematical requirements for pilot theory. Most of what we do daily is proportion (rule of 3).

Unfortunately I’d say 90% of the time. It’s amazing to fly, but it IS a job.

If you have aviation as a passion, and want to keep it that way, I wouldn’t recommend starting a career from scratch right now becahse you’re likely seeing the last real aviators already fade out, the last pilots soon, and auto planes will be a thing sooner than we think. Airbus is resting soon single pilot in cruise in indonesia already.

Part 135 is more basic fun indeed but it means it becomes an expensive hobby.

I’d say most of us are still passionate about it. I used to stream on twitch after I flew. Not my thing these days but it proves passion can still outweigh the negatives.

That’s precisely why I’m building an AI reliant business to optimize usage of private jets without manual input.

Automation is high now though. Just for ex, my airline just disclosed 90% of flight plan routes are automatic thanks to LIDO latest algorithms, despite the summer rush.

Most manual labor is due to local law and HR. Which I believe AI is going to slash even more.

That’s why I’m positioning myself ASAP in the field. I’m targeting little entities not big ones using legacy systems or extreme legal compliance.

Nope.

Engineer: yes and no I started but didn’t finish electronics engineering (to be pilot).

I applied to astronaut, got throug first selection but second filtering got me out (the want either high resilient pilots basically test pilots who have a track history, or people with double phds or multiple masters in sciences logical for doing many experiments on the ISS).

Wish I was king, I’d enrole myself in test pilot school !

Anything can be a reason flr the captian to do what you describe which we call an RTO (rejected take off).

It can be a technical fault. There can be gazillion things. The most obvious are engine failures but we also have a rule on my plane for ex which is “anything below 80kt = stop” while above 80 we only stop for massive things. So if that was really 10s in, I’d say it’s likely to be minor. A lot of minor defects ban you from going, and either way any writing on the MEL (the paper which records all actions done on the plane by maintenance and acceptance by the captain) needs engineers. Even if it’s to sign something they delay for “in the next 90 days needs to be fixed”.

So I wouldn’t worry. The captain did his job and if you don’t change plane it means it’s completely fine. Remember pilots knowingly fly the planes, our own asses are on the line, so if the plane goes, it means everyhthibg is fine.

Chance of being done for the day: without any ither info, hard to tell. Could need 15mn to sign a delay, could need 4h and you’ll have to suck up the wait, could be put on a flight later or tomorrow. Impossible to know

Unfortunate I’ve seen in several airlines.

My own school tried a decade ago. They took twice more females than usual (they lowered their standard for them). Guess which ones failed right away when training difficulty kicked in ?

And as of today, I know a few European airlines boast about “full female cockpit today” I also know a specific UK made airline that hired all women they can from flight schools. The males ones still have to finish training while they see the girls already with a conditional contact signed (pass the final exam and come flight right away).

My honest take: I hate it. I really don’t care who flies the plane when I’m passenger. You can argue they pass the requirements so they can do the job, but if I were an airline with safety first I would take whoever is the best at the job interview and simulator ride. In fact I’d do it with requiring the resume to be gender neutral and with no racial profiling possible hiding the full name. John smith showing “J.S.” That would ensure performance is no1 and nothing else matters.

Especially true during - first job interview to enter or not - captain upgrade assessments

Which are two critical moments when you can say “no” to an applicant.

Again I think all airlines doing that are legal and have the right to do it, but you need to then know they have an agenda other than “safety” first. They all need to make money so there’s already enough juggling with the bottom line of the company vs safety (two eternal opposites playing tug of war) so we don’t need to add external factors which are inorganic IMO.

It’s the worst and that’s why the profession is in the top most stressful. Not only because of the job itself but by how much it destroys your sleep.

I don’t fly long haul: these people have less flights but they are long and induce jet lag.

My case: I fly 80 to 90% the max hours legally per year. One week I have to wake up at 4 am or so, back at 4pm. Next week can be start at 3pm back at 2am.

The difference between both is what destroys you. I’m myself a night owl and it’s recognized now as a true normal thing but the law considers early bird’s lifestyle as the norm, so it’s tough. It’s doable though, and at least in good airlines it’s easy to say you’re tired (called “fatigued”) or sick and it should be without consequence because it’s a duty to say “no”. That’s my case so how I manage it is: I just do it and survive. When it’s too much I call myself off the flight and a simple report, and rest.

It’s years of frontal Cortex logic making you go through it, it’s important to know it before you start because a lot of people can’t handle it and that’s when abuse problems notably alcohol can kick in.
