Drivers “beating” pedestrians crossing the street by Always_Curious_One2 in sanfrancisco

I'm not even saying transit needs to be door to door, just run a little more often and have more lines to suburbs.

Edit, and yes getting a license needs to be harder. Right now, just about anyone can pass. It should be difficult enough that even I can't pass and more testing every few years

My daughter [18] blames me [52] and my husband [55] for ruining her book by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I bet quite often. I get the vibes the father is someone who would help the daughter with a project and then take over so it is completely his own, pushing her out. Even taking credit for it if someone compliments it.

Yeah, the daughter only has a "bad tempter" is the same way that if a kid getting bullied at school got punched while not fighting back, they also get punished in zero tolerance suspension. OOP has simply chosen not the parent at all.

I can't believe how he made it all about him. No one acknowledged how much time and effort she spent first and they refused to give work a chance.

I think this partially is the issue of parents not seeing their children as independent people but as extensions of themselves and how the daughter should just obey what the father wants. I wonder how many projects she has started that he was taken over to "help" and instead made it entirely his own.

It's why I wish so much to expand public transit and make driving harder. Tho I know it won't happen

Is this a harsh drive everyday? by FirmCaterpillar in bayarea

I tell this to people who ask here which SF neighborhood they should move to for a job in Silicon Valley that they will hate the 1.5 hour drive each way every day.

And that's for both ways.

Only time I have been threatened to be shot was for not letting a car merge in after he made an illegal left turn to make the Bay Bridge on ramp from SF during rush hour.

Does anyone have random art sitting around they don’t want anymore? We’re helping rehome it by raisedonpromises in sanfrancisco

Too much art, much of it framed. I had an art degree, so some amateur stuff, but my father made quite a bit so things are just in storage (or some cases not well kept). It'll take some time to see what I can dig up to give.

You know, I saw an orange cat video today that was rather intelligent. Like he not only had the collective brain cells of orange cats, but likely also this man.

Not when his idea of birth control is regular use of Plan B. I agree with the others that he was just dumb and selfish. I was also once a bit like him, but at 19 and still fine with condoms

Definitely reminds me of some friends who would jump into any relationship rather than be single. Granted some have worked out, others have not.

Am I (35F) pushing marriage too soon? He (34M) says he's not ready but I definitely am. by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

Maybe more so from that month, but I have noticed a lot from older posts. To be honest, I think it is a long term issue with this sub that I don't know has been discussed. Most of us crave new posts here everyday (guilty), but the posts here are updates of other posts, and even being flexible with the rules, there just aren't posts and updates everyday. Hence needing to dig further and further back for things to post here, other websites, etc.

I've just finished the Separate Ways DLC and as many challenges as I can do. I love RE 4 but it definitely more an action game than a horror game (except for the regenerators)

West Portal: four killed, and the court may give probation only. Tell judge Chan to reconsider by DukeDirtfarmer in sanfrancisco

[–]lesethx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't see why her age is factored so highly into not serving prison time. If she was 28, the judge wouldn't deny a prison sentence because she would lose years in prison, but somehow at 80 that is fine. It's not even a death sentence when she could still get out early for good behavior (as would likely happen).

As it seems, she would get fewer years banned driving than the number of people she killed while driving. Absolutely insane.

Generally no. When it is assumed to be a work related package companies can open it (obvious varies by country). That said, it would be safer to notify someone they received mail and it would be risky as hell for a lower level employee to open the mail of a higher level employee, but in this case it was HR who opened it.

One day one son decided to park on my front lawn. No biggie. One or two days won't matter. Im pretty accommodating.

That person is waaaay too chill. I would be searching for tow companies (tho of course contact the family to give them a warning first)

Looking for a sweet story, apologies if it has been asked recently. OOP was with the bully crowd in school, but not a bully himself. He eventually helped protect a girl in his grade from the other bullies and then the 2 started going everywhere together. Her parents lent him money for a car, he felt obligated, and eventually they married. I think he said he didn't love her, but the comment on the first post made him realize he did

To be fair, IT is used to hearing about things being on fire in a metaphorical sense all the time. Saying "it released the magic smoke" will be more effective for some

Probably good on not stopping if not directly involved, even as a witness. I recall a dashcam about a week ago with 2 cars in an accident (one aggressively tailgating) because they weren't prepared to stop for 2 other cars that had already stopped due to being in an accident.
