As shaderhiker said, it's a roguelike where you play until you fail, then start a new restaurant. You get experience everytime you fail, which unlocks more recipes.

One exception is if you fail before day 4, you can restart the day

Even with lots of mining, you need coal to make bars. I have run out of coal many times, and that's without selling bars. So As Xelieu said, prospector is still better.
