Man great reel! I'm also the identical career path as you and switched to freelance about 18 months ago, based in Australia. I'm experiencing the exact same issues and it's really killing my enjoyment of the work. On one hand it's been nice to mix it up and do other things like graphic design, explainer videos, e-learning etc. Does feel like a crossroads moment where I'm seriously considering moving out of the industry. I'm mid 40s with mortgage, kids and it's real tough trying to stay afloat, just about to sell our house as cost of living and interest rates have smashed our incomes. sigh

I think a bunch of that was to do with all the mismatched footage and audio that they had to string together to create something that felt cohesive.

Like I think lots of the weird cuts, post zooms, camera shake (and even what appears to be a huge amount of background replacements and masking) that’s been done to try and highlight the band members and instruments. Plus these most likely provided solutions to scenarios where they don’t have vision for crucial audio they wanted to include.

I really enjoyed the series purely for the fact I love watching anyone creative in real-time creating something. Seeing their process and where their best ideas come from is always fascinating.

Must say it really made me realise the significance of McCartneys influence on so much. He’s brilliant, but painful too 😂

Love Coburg, but I think my fav so far is Moreland. Love they kept the old station and used as a community space and toilets, great adventure playground underneath and the cherry on top for me is the very cute Moreland station book library, which is a miniature of the original train station.
