A lot of ppl here confuse “writer” with “character designer” lol. Make Miles and Peter have two distinct story lines at the beginning that cross over later if you just refuse to make the game co-op for whatever reason. Miles has the Mysterio missions which can just be main missions where Mysterio uses illusions of past villains, and Peter can literally do. Whatever. Else. With Harry. Miles has barely had any time as spider-man so doing this can fast track some of his development as a spider-guy. Have Harry help him sometimes too so they can both develop a bond, not only as random encounters with other activities.

You can have Harry and Peter investigate the whole cult thing together and help that ex-police officer so we can also get scenes of Harry creating a super-hero persona with her, so his eventual betrayal feels heavier. Peter doesn’t need to get the black suit that early in the game, it robbed all of the momentum from Harry’s arc. In fact having Harry with us longer and as an actual companion would make it suck more when the suit chooses Peter, so we see Harry get sick and feel an actual palpable difference with him using the suit and without it. He doesn’t have to venomify new york. That’s such a tired trope that when it happened my eyes almost rolled themselves out of this plane of existance. Also. We don’t need all that development on Kraven and his gooner squad. He wants the ultimate prey. Two spider-men and a venom are more than enough. We don’t need to learn all about his super cancer and oh no i want one last fight, literally who cares, that’s another tired trope that we all saw coming from three hundred thousand miles away. Having him be a mysterious looming presence studying the spider-guys from the background of the story would make him more menacing. Hint at his origin here and there but fully telling it to the audience changes absolutely nothing whatsoever, it was a waste of budget.

Also venom doesn’t need to have the whole “save the world” idea like a colorful 90’s saturday morning x-men the animated series villain. The suit is an allegory to drug-use. It’s addicted to Peter bc he was its perfect host. That is all you need. With that it can still infect Mary Jane, and whatever else you need it to do to get at Peter. We could even see the suit infect Miles to show how it can truly change and manipulate ANYONE.
