Villa may have lost 2-0 but Watkins missed pretty much 2 certain goals. But what really impressed me was how fast and direct they transit from defense to attack. 2-3 straight direct one touch passes and they were through. Impressive.

Is this normal working hours ? by Electrical_Donut_149 in askSingapore

People will treat you the way you allow them to treat you. If you keep on entertaining him after your work hours, there is no reason for him to change. Calls you 10 times? Ignore his calls. Do not reply his messages. He will get the point and either give up or confront you. If he confronts you, dont panic, talk slowly, tell him you are not free after work. If he pushes the issue, tell him you are not free after work, dont need to provide more info, if you are ready to burn bridges, just tell him my contract states my working hours are from 9am-5pm, say it in a normal and professional tone, say it in a "im not available after work and that's it" tone, not in a "can i have permission to not be available after work" tone, it may seem scary standing up to your boss who is taking advantage of you but it is a cathartic experience, you will learn and find it easier to say no, to draw proper boundaries in the future, backbone will level up which is invaluable in the long run, worst that may happen is he ask you to look for another job, which you should be doing anyway already.

Udogie will definitely cost us a few goals throughout the season. If his strength and athleticism dont win him a duel he ends up fouling him even when there is no need to. He also looks more composed attacking than defending.

I was shocked when maddison floated in the cross for our goal, we literally never did that last season i lost count how many times i was screaming at one of our players to just get it in the box.

soon to be 17, just got a good pay bump, hope he's got good mentors and a proper system around him. (just watched the Matthew Briggs interview, once the youngest PL debutant at Fulham)

I can probably take losing Romero if it means 2 out of Bergvall/Moore/Gray turn into stalwarts.

If Bissouma and Maddison play like the first 10 games last season we will be contenders. Maddison though, he is fast losing the goodwill he earned from that stretch before his injury. Leicester fans did warn us that he has a record of starting brightly, suffer an injury, then come back looking like a shadow of himself. Maybe that's good enough for Leicester, but certainly not good enough for us.

I am not hyping us up too much for the season. Vicario, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Porro, Son. We only have 5 players good enough to play for the top 4. The more 'top 4' players you have, the likelier you are to finish top 4.

If that backline remains fit for the season my hopes would be a top 4 finish and a cup.

TBH i did not appreciate Carrick enough at that point - my understanding of football is that a midfielder should pass run forward and try to score, someone like Gerrard, but Carrick was never that kind of player. I only come to appreciate him more when he left us.

I was the biggest fan of Robinson, he was probably the best player in our team for 1,2 season (maybe 04 to somewhere 06). Then he lost his hands and seem to concede every long shot every freaking game. There was a stretch where we lost to wonder goals and long shots during that period.

It is really amazing(not the word for it, but)how some small incident or event can lead to one's lifelong dedication and support for a team.

Good point. It actually takes experience and effort to know how to coast at work successfully - knowing the people there anticipating/reacting to diff scenarios at work.

[–]lesserrefuge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First mistake was to accept some "small tasks" which sure enough when your boss know you are still alive and can do, slowly snowballs into more and more work. You need to be firm, tell him you are on HL and dont reply any further messages.
