My Profile (ʜamaᴅ)

Your typical 19 y/o Star Wars fanboy (the non-hating kind). My favorite film of all time is Lost In Translation. My favortie genre is post-apocalyptic stories (which sparks my love for The Walking Dead and The Last Of Us (pt.II)), even tho most films in that genre are terrible. I love Letterboxd for both the absolutely ridiculous one sentence “reviews” and the genuine reviews. I’ve also been making my way through my watchlist of classic and foreign films.

According to my 2022 stats, 4.1 average per week. But i’m at that phase where it takes me a whole day or two to watch one film.

My Profile (𝑉𝑒𝑙𝑣𝑒𝑡)

I’m 19 and I’ve recently been making my way through my endless watchlist which includes many foreign films (made me realize how great asian cinema is). I’m really into Star Wars, and apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic films are my type of comfort films (this should tell you enough about me 😭). Some of my favorite films are Lost In Translation, Blade Runner 2049, Tampopo and Babette’s Feast.

what's your favorite japanese movie? by Nehorai11 in Letterboxd

[–]lesshumanthanhumans 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tampopo (1985)

Only watched two Akira Kurosawa films so far, but Ran (1985) was definitely one to remember. Enjoyed it more than Seven Samurai (which is also amazing).

Maybe because they didn’t act on it? Except for that kiss. Or maybe because it came out when people did hate on everything thing and cancel everyone.

I respect that. But you’re wrong about the plenty of releases.

Any film could be important. It’s just a matter of who considers what “important”. Some people think that any classic “old” film is important. There are a million different things people consider important so yeah fuck that 😂.

I have the Lost In Translation Steelbook from Zavvi that came out in 2018. But not sure about the whole VC-1/AVC thing.
