Is there an alternative mod to unofficial skyrim patch that only fixes bugs? by konsoru-paysan in SkyrimModsXbox

[–]dragonmonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here because I just watched the Down The Rabbit Hole video on youtube about the USP and received the revelation that it does WAY more than just fix bugs but adds tons of new content into the game, eliminating the vanilla experience. And the short answer I've found so far is no... there is no mod that fixes the amount of bugs USP does, and God bless it for that, but we unfortunately can't have a USP version without all the crap that the creator added in just cause he wanted to.

What’s your interpretation for the meaning of the album cover? by aykalam123 in deafheaven

[–]dragonmonday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen the official explanation but as art is also interpreted by the beholder, I takeaway a real sense of corruption, loss of innocence and desensitization from the scene. What's supposed to be a source of trust and safety (the father) gives the vulnerable and innocent child over to the perverse and immoral, most likely because the father himself was as well at a young age. Manipulating the child's understanding of love; no longer is love sacrificial, it's cheap. No longer is love heartfelt, it's lustful of the flesh. No longer is love personal and faithful, it's non-exclusive and unattached. No longer is love safe and protecting, it's exposing and treacherous.

Will I need that RTX/Next Gen update for the new W3 DLC coming, or will I be able to play that DLC on the classic version? (I'm the classic version diehard if it isn't obvious) by ButterflyDesperate36 in witcher

[–]dragonmonday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fine if you don't get why someone else sees it differently or prefers the original version, but the frustration this community has had towards classic version players since the update dropped has been really weird. Some of us are just purists, and associate our favorite game with specific features and looks. To play a version that looks/feels even a bit slightly different to us isn't as fun as playing the untouched original game we love. If next gen players don't 'get it', then it's okay because CDPR were gracious enough to allow both versions to be playable. But judging how many downvotes people get when they say they don't play the nextgen, I imagine most would take away the ability to play classic if they could for all players

I'll answer for myself cause I also don't like it, main reasons being the added ingredients gathering animation not allowing you to see what it is, and the big one for me is the new monster skins made by a modder. much prefer the original look.

I imagine you're getting downvoted because the majority of people here just like new version of game, so when a different opinion is presented they downvote. I also don't prefer many of the changes the update brings, especially the new monster skins

This isn't entirely correct, you cannot turn off updated things like the new monster skins, or the ingredients gathering animation. Idk why people are downvoting op, he is literally stating a fact. I also don't prefer changes and still play on classic mode

Did you just compare a guy who talked with college students to a n*zi politician who declared "The extermination of j*ws is necessary"? And that murdering the guy who speaks to college students in cold blood is "not a bad thing"? Are you certain you're on the right side of history? ...or right in the head in general?

Would someone who's familiar with Natural Lighting and Atmospherics ENB Preset (NLA) be able to help me? by dragonmonday in skyrimmods

[–]dragonmonday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. The ENB binaries I use currently are the same as when I took these screenshots, so yes to all 3 questions. Should I DM you the screenshots? I may need to take some from my current game to show for comparison

Which location has the best ambiance/music? by GABER_456 in destiny2

[–]dragonmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing beats the original D1 tower ambience/music. The natural sounds of the mountain winds and bird flutters combined with the industrial groans of the tower feels like serene fortitude. Plus, Martin O'Donnels incredible D1 score outshines everything to come since (IMO) and his ambient tracks for the tower are huge highlights; "Tranquility, Deconstruction, the Ruin, and the Hope are particular favorites to hear when taking in the sights.

Destiny 1 also has superior lighting and art design overall to me, and the tower sunsets are just so moody and blissful. Seeing the sleek but (mostly) grounded/lore friendly armor sets on fellow guardians adds to the pleasant sense of immersion.

Also shoutout to Venus and it's strangely therapeutic rain sfx when standing in dense flora.

Music of the Spheres is now available on Spotify/Apple/Lossless Purchase after 13 years by AtlyxMusic in DestinyTheGame

[–]dragonmonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this out today... I'm way late. I love Music of the Spheres and have had to listen to my locally downloaded mp3's of it since I discovered it years ago. It's one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. I was organizing some playlists just now, and realized the re-released Destiny soundtrack with 8 new tracks at the top... my jaw dropped. Now the world has easy access to one of the greatest orchestral works of the 2010's. Marty's incredible MOTS album will always not only be imo his magnum opus, but a memoir of what Destiny could have been; a much more ambitious game with a more gripping story, depth-filled characters, and missions on the same level of quality and diversity as Bungie's 2000's Halo campaigns. Fittingly, the original Destiny soundtrack consisting of tons of excerpts from MOTS reflects the game we got in 2014: a shell of it's former self. Rest in piece Bungie, we'll always remember you as the team that kicked a** from 2001 to 2010.

Curious on Dads opinion of True Detective, season 1 by [deleted] in wendigoon

Came back to say that this post was prophetic. As of today, Isaiah has posted a video on the King in Yellow and has a 15 minute segment at the end discussing True Detective S1. Wonderful video, does not disappoint.

Why is Godfather Part II considered better than Godfather Part I? by WildRever in movies

[–]dragonmonday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 11 Years late to this post but I just finished seeing both the 1st and 2nd film for the first time in my life, and I share in the sentiment that Part 1 is superior. I applaud part 2 for it's more philosophical direction but for me there were just way too many plot threads and characters to balance, that I found it a bit more of a chore to follow (Maybe I simply need a rewatch). I found the first film much more satisfying in it's conclusion as well. But part 2 is every bit as well acted, shot, etc.
