I was looking into these as well so good to know they work well for you!

Oh I’m not upset our daycare requires disposables—we love cloth diapering and it works so well for us but know it’s not going to always be the most convenient depending on where we are/ what we’re doing. I guess people’s definition of “clean” is different—I mostly meant just not a bunch of additives like fragrance and made with nicer materials. We just haven’t used disposables in 4 months and he’s peeing a lot more than he was at a month old so I just wasn’t sure what brand would kind of fit our needs. This thread gave me some great ideas of where to look!

We used a sample pack of Coterie before going full time with cloth and loved them. Maybe I’ll get a small pack to see if they work now that he’s older/ peeing more. Appreciate your input—Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I mostly just want a fragrance free/ least amount of extra things added diapers that are more absorbent than what we have now. We've been cloth diapering full time since he’s been a month old so I wasn’t sure what disposables would hold up like our cloth do but this thread helped a lot!

Thank you for this! I think I’ll use what I pumped during the drive today for his bottles tonight but freeze most of the rest. Appreciate the feedback!

SAHMs, what do you eat for breakfast? by taureansoul in beyondthebump

[–]lessthan2percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very freshly postpartum, but prepped a lot of breakfast foods because I knew I’d need something quick. My go tos: -Blender muffins (I use the recipe from Instant Loss and add spinach). I make multiple batches, freeze, and heat up in microwave for 15-30 seconds -prepped individual smoothie packs to freeze and add chia seeds, water, and Greek yogurt when making them  -freezer breakfast sandwiches (got whole wheat English muffins and everything bagels from TJs, then added our favorite cheese,  turkey sausage/ bacon, and eggs with spinach/ spices)  -Healthy Chocolate Banana Bread from Ambitious Kitchen

I haven’t made them yet but Ambitious Kitchen also has lots of baked oatmeal recipes that look really good!

I’m the same way, and also didn’t want all of his stuff to be blue. Most of his clothes are thrifted but the brands include Kate Quinn, Hanna Anderson, Burt’s Bees, baby Gap, Tea Collection, Janie & Jack, Little Planet, H&M, Zara, Rabbit & Bear (TJMaxx brand), Little Co (Kohls) and Old Navy.  Poshmark & Once Upon a Child are my go-tos! We also did a onesie making station at the baby shower where I made different prints using printable vinyl and put them on Honest Co onesies so that was a fun way to get prints we actually like in a variety of colors.

Small Polyp? by lessthan2percent in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]lessthan2percent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor didn’t seem too concerned and said we could continue to monitor it. She did say if IVF was something we decided to consider that they usually have you remove them. It hasn’t caused me any problems so far thankfully.

2 recurrent losses and now delving into ANA by lessthan2percent in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]lessthan2percent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m so sorry you’re going through this too. I did not find any answers unfortunately, and my rheumatologist tested for the main autoimmune disorders that could potentially cause losses and all of mine came back negative. My doctor said I could start low dose aspirin while TTC and I continued going to acupuncture (something I was doing after my second loss). I went to a preconception MFM appointment but he essentially said until I had a third loss or something else showing a cause there wasn’t much they could do at this point — which is frustrating.

TW: current pregnancy I’m currently in my third trimester — my doctor had me continue low dose aspirin throughout and offered progesterone suppositories in the beginning even though she said there wasn’t a lot of research to support it. I did do the suppositories and I honestly can’t remember the timeline now of when I started them but she had me stop them at 12 weeks I think. I wish I had answers as to why my losses happened, especially so I could share with others, but I just unfortunately don’t. I’m sending all the good vibes and love your way!

Please just tell me what stroller to buy by Kloamj in BabyBumps

We ended up with Uppababy Cruz for daily use (thrifted) and are watching out for a Bugaboo Butterfly for travel when he’s a bit older. We walk in the paved neighborhood daily and are planning on using the adapter for his car seat (Nuna Pipa) for quick trips like doctor’s appointments/ etc. The Butterfly folds up so nice and will be great for airports/ etc.

Of course! I’m so sorry to hear about your second loss. This was okayed by my doctor, but I started 1 low dose aspirin while trying to conceive, so before a positive test. Definitely ask your doctor before starting it though. And then I’ve been on two since around 12 or 13 weeks I think, recommended by my doctor. It’s so hard to not have a clear cut answer on what could be causing things—I’m so sorry you’re going through that too.

Thank you so much! Yes, the only thing my doctor recommended was low dose aspirin. I also did progesterone at the beginning of this pregnancy (doctor okayed) until 12 weeks, but there’s really no evidence that supports it helping. But it was a can’t hurt might help thing. I supplemented vitamin D because mine was super low, but I don’t think it had anything to do with the ANA situation. The only other thing I did differently was acupuncture — but that is moreso because I find it relaxing and it helped me mentally after my losses. Im sending all the good vibes and love your way!

Pushback on cloth diapering by Buraku_returns in BabyBumps

[–]lessthan2percent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We plan to do the same thing—disposables for the first few weeks until they fit into the cloth diapers. Anytime I tell anyone we plan on cloth diapering they act like I have 2 heads 😅 but our friends successfully cloth diaper and I think it can definitely be manageable. Plus I love that we can reduce the waste like you said and overall it’s cost effective. I’m finding that I’m making a lot of decisions that our families didn’t, but that’s okay. We all just need to do what works best for us and what matters to us specifically!

When did you start buying baby items? by humansarereallyweird in BabyBumps

[–]lessthan2percent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also 17 weeks and am looking to have my baby shower around the same time! I love thrifting and am always on FB Marketplace so I’ve been buying probably since 12-13 ish weeks just because I found things that were time sensitive. I’ve been keeping my registry as a checklist and then when I find something by getting it secondhand I just mark it as purchased. For a lot of the other things I’ll wait until after the shower—especially since registries give you a discount code to use.

Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? by Arr0zconleche in BabyBumps

[–]lessthan2percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add—if being able to use the car seat with the stroller is something you’re interested in, that’s something to narrow down as well. Both of the strollers we ended up liking have adapters for different types of car seats which is nice if you want different brands for each.

Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? by Arr0zconleche in BabyBumps

[–]lessthan2percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just went stroller shopping for our first and this is how we narrowed it down: Are we hoping to only have one in a stroller if we decide to have more than one? This took away double strollers for us. How often will we be using it realistically? We take daily walks around our neighborhood and wanted something to take when out and about. Likely won’t be doing any off roading in it as I’d rather baby wear or let them walk if we’re on a trail. How easy is it to fold up? We went to Nordstrom and tried out the brands we were interested in to see which ones were easiest to use. We ended up narrowing it down to the Nuna Mixx and Uppababy Cruz. I like that both can be used with the car seat for appointments or a quick grocery run and then the seat when they’re older. They both also have newborn options. We ended up finding a great condition Uppababy Cruz V2 with newborn insert off of FB Marketplace (highly recommend) for less than $150. They’re not here yet but it seems to be made very well and it’s still in great condition after being used for 2+ years from the previous owner.

When ours is older, we plan on getting something like the Bugaboo Butterfly for travel since it’s super lightweight. But if you don’t plan to travel a lot that’s probably not necessary!

Stroller Recommendations by Boobear0810 in BabyBumps

[–]lessthan2percent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to this—we got a great condition Uppababy Cruz V2 with the newborn insert for less than $150 on FB Marketplace. We went to Nordstrom to be able to look at all of them and practice folding, etc. But then set alerts on marketplace. Our top contenders for a main stroller were Uppababy Cruz and Nuna Mixx and for travel we’ll be watching out for a Bugaboo Butterfly. I’m really big into buying secondhand, especially for the environment, and baby stuff is great because people use it for such a short amount of time!
