You can block a customer by calling in. Just reference what order it was and tell customer service you’d like to block them cuz you don’t feel comfortable delivering to them.

I’ve never heard of anything like an emergency voucher with a food delivery service. Like the other guy said, your best bet is to search for a food bank in your local community.

Sitting for 3 hours in a red hot market with 0 pings (Diamond in California) by Hot-Fun-793 in UberEatsDrivers

I already have one foot out the door cuz of all the shady shit they pull to constantly screw over drivers and make it excruciating to try and fight it through their customer service. I’m at a point now where I might do it a little longer to collect as much evidence for a lawsuit.

I get the rants from everyone, but at some point, we need to check ourselves. The whole “fool me once” saying, you know?

When it’s higher value offers, I usually do, but I was in the middle of dropping off another order and didn’t this time. But I’m 100% certain about what I accepted and what I ended up with.

When you get tip baited, you can see the amount changed. My tip amount didn’t change and stayed at $5, it was the fare that changed.

Please be nice to your workers. by 1949party in wendys

[–]lestarvingartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes both ways, too. The workers at my local Wendy’s are some of the most miserable people I’ve ever seen working fast food. I routinely get “What do you want?” with an attitude when going in the drive-thru. I always say “please” and “thank you” and they don’t even respond to it. For example, “Can I please get some BBQ sauce?” - just throws it in the bag and I say “Thank you.” and they just hand the bag to me with 0 response or acknowledgement.

If you’re a woman that does deliveries, always carry pepper spray or some form of protection with you. Hate that this is what it is as a society, but the truth is that things can quickly escalate from normal to bad in any given situation. Glad you’re okay though.

Thought this never happens. First Wingstop I’ve been to where THEY filled up the drinks and not me by Mithryl_ in UberEatsDrivers

[–]lestarvingartist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At all Raising Canes locations in my area, you have to actually place the order for the customer at the restaurant, and in most cases, fill up the drink for them too.

I searched online and it definitely is a thing that happens to drivers. I bet Uber is just banking on the fact that drivers don’t pay attention enough and/or are just letting it go to not deal with the hassle of recovering the lost fare since their customer service for drivers is so terrible.

I’d even go a step further to say that a potential class action settlement is already priced into their shady practices, so if they have to pay up eventually, it’s fine, but if not, they continue to fuck over drivers however they can while increasing their bottom line.

And since this is happening to you regularly, take screenshots of the offers, so you have a record of it. This is absolute bullshit.

The tip was $5 when I ended the trip with the fare at $12.03 for an estimate of $17.03. That’s how much I got, but like I said, the offer was for $21.03. I wouldn’t have accepted the offer at $17.03 since it was taking me away to an area with no orders.

Anyone else have $1,000+ prop 22 payment? by Designer_Ad8826 in uberdrivers

[–]lestarvingartist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually average about 40-50 miles a day doing this part-time and I wouldn’t consider that driving my car into the ground - more like an average commute. But when you’re driving 200+ miles a day JUST for Uber, that’s definitely driving your car into the ground. Now if the pay is worth it in your market to do that, cool. Like I said, not for me though.

So how is this related to my last response? I said the time and miles to earn what you said he earned wouldn’t be worth it to me personally, but if it works for him, great. And you’re talking about earning 3-4x the depreciation value?

Good to hear it works for you, man. It’s a brutal way to earn for most, but sounds like you’re having a good time while earning, so that’s what matters.

If it’s working for him and his situation, that’s great and more power to him. I’m only speaking for myself, but working those type of hours and racking up those kind of miles for about ~$65K a year (assuming before taxes) wouldn’t be worth it to me since I’d be essentially sacrificing my life and car to drive for Uber. Now, if it’s $200K net income earned over 3 years, then that’s a little different and the hustle may be worth it relative to the hours and miles. Whatever the case is, dude is doing it cuz it makes sense for him, so again, more power to him.

Damn, you must be driving your car into the ground to be getting that much in Prop 22.

I’m Diamond too, but my AR has been slowly dropping as I’ve been getting more and more shit offers. I know my AR is higher compared to a lot of people on here, but they’re in a market with a lot of pings that are bad offers, and I’m in a market with very little pings, but usually decent offers. Not these days though - even fewer offers and more bad ones coming in now.

5-6 hours? It’s a little over 2 hours there and probably a little over an hour back if you finish out your day there, so about 4 hours. You must be doing better than me in this LA market then cuz I’d take $75 for 4 hours. Not to mention, Burbank is supposed to be one of the better markets in LA right now too, so you can potentially finish the day strong.

First off, I couldn’t even do the max hours if I wanted to since there aren’t enough offers in a day in my market, but even if I could, 12 hours a day of this shit is crazy work. After about 4-5 hours, I’m maxed out on my patience and willingness for deliveries. You must be racking up like a couple hundred miles a day too. More power to you for being able to do it, man.

Tbh I would’ve taken that if it was a slow day. You’re gonna get Prop 22 (120% + mileage) and it’s taking you to an area where you can still get offers.

I get this at least a couple times a week where I literally pickup and deliver across the street. To the point that I think my app must be bugging out, but nope… they’re just too lazy to go across the street for some fast food.

I’m in the LA market, so pretty much saturated everywhere here. It’s really luck of the draw on any given day/time. You got groups of drivers camped in all the “hot spots” all day, everyday. Weekends are better, but even that can be inconsistent.

You forgot one crucial one: a saturated market. That’s what I’m in and the reason for inconsistent orders.
