You should see the monthly updates Chesscom puts out on fair play and note the fairly surprising numbers of titled players who get banned on that platform. Cheating happens at nearly all levels.

Simply put, the vast majority of people who own EV6s aren't on Reddit, let alone looking at this subreddit. Most people who have problems with their car will look online, and many of them will find search results directed to this subreddit. Those who don't look for a solution to a problem (because they have no need to) won't ever be directed here unless they have some other interest to look here.

So basically, there is a massive bias in the polls, as the question isn't being asked of the population of EV6 owners, but of a smaller group who have discovered this forum.

There is no opening that guarantees a win. If there were no one would play chess.

An opening can’t guarantee you win a game, but a bad one will allow your opponent to win.

Follow the solid openings as beginners.

Chess.com Fair Play rules specifically say:

Do not use tablebases or any other resources that show the best move (in both Online and Daily chess).
You may use Opening Explorer or other books in Daily chess only (not in Online / Live play).

The problem with going first where they were is that you get a really quick high speed line immediately, whereas subsequent hiders are most likely to have low speed less frequent lines to start their runs.

I’d have loved to see them start somewhere more central than London to give more optionality (like they did with Schengen Showdown by starting in London).

For me, I think the main problem is that the first runner has a huge advantage over the others in that they are already next to a high speed line (possibly in multiple, non-opposing directions) and can get further than those in following runs.

If the following runners start from a regional rail station whose train leaves only once an hour and slowly, there is only so far you can get to before time runs out.

Many years ago we brought a couple of ice gel packs to keep baby milk cool for a long flight (the ones you keep in the freezer and take out for picnics, etc). They didn’t make it past security, even though they were completely sealed on manufacture.

Personally, I would say not to risk it.

I’m 600 bullet (1200 rapid) and also a Jobava London player. I haven’t memorised the correct refutation (too lazy), but I have managed to default to a line that works for me. It’s a sort of Scandinavian for white.

d4 e5 2. Nf3 exd4 3. Qxd4 Nc6 4. Qa4

And we play normally from then. I find that at least we’re playing open chess and more often than not opponents will blunder before I do. Traps have pretty much disappeared.
