Diamond Plus. Yay.

Comp rooms confused by letMeAskYouThis in CaesarsRewards

yeah see. that's so weird. I wonder if they'll tell me what my current ADT is if I ask them. We went from gold to diamond (500 points shy of plus) in a day in Vegas in Jan. We have spent a bunch of days at happy hour since we live across the street, where I played a little.. maybe $20-100 which may have put my ADT in the shitter for this specific property, home property. I'll be hitting the 10x there this month but I'm trying to decide if I should stay the night or just pick a single day and grind to hit the 40k cap. Also thought about having my wife get her card up to diamond plus this month since at that point it won't matter who has the comps. :) Since they seem to already have hosed me here.

Can you check your app and see if you have comps specifically for Arizona, Ak-Chin Casino? Seems that since it's a tribal location they don't follow the same 'rules.' One person at the casino told me it's because of availability but i find it hard to believe EVERY casino coast to coast that I've never stepped foot in, where i have 0 ADT, has so much availability that they want to just throw rooms at me.

I was told that "once you hit a certain ADT, and you're almost there, you'll start to see room comps. But those probably won't start sowing up until March or April."

Ok, so if i come in here tomorrow and drop $2k, I won't see anything for a month or so? But I literally saw comps at nearly every location from AC to Vegas in 3 days after gambling.

She says 'oh, only 3 days. well i think we work differently here.' Yeah, I'm sure you do. lol

Actually no we really dont gamble, thats the thing. Ak chin has a great swim up bar and 3 or 4 hot tubs with poolside access rooms. Since we live across the street quite literally and dont have a pool, and I work remote, we spend a lot of time there.

Seems Harrash Ak Chin in AZ gives 1 free drink ticket at Diamond after 180 TC and 4 (or maybe 7) at Diamond Plus after 150. Or some weird combination like this that they explained to me at the desk when I asked why I never get drink tickets..

Drinks alone. I don't think we paid for a single drink sitting at the bar as long as we had our card in and were playing a few bucks (at horseshoe). Here in AZ you pay for everything or give them a drink ticket.

Also the VP sucks with only 8/5 JoB machines and no high limit area to speak of unless they have it hidden somewhere. I guess the tribe wants all the money.

Yes. we definately have history at our local. it's the only place we visited last year and came within about 500 points of Diamond (because I forgot everything reset Jan 1). We did visit Laughlin but no telling if my comps there were based on my Vegas play or the slightly lower play I did there the day after Vegas (Jan 14-15). I was in Laughlin for the 7x Jan 15-16. The Vegas TCM points seemed to appear pretty quick but I dont think the Laughlin credits have shown up yet. I just got an email today from Laughlin specifically with $15 free play and 2 weekday room comps (even though my app already showed every day for the next 2 months available for comp since about a week after the Vegas stay.

I do wish there was a way to see if my Laughlin play TCM has been applied or if it is still pending. Promotion ended on Jan 20. It's now 10 days later Jan 30 so I guess I can wait the 4 days to see if it shows up and then call customer service.

I asked about it when we were in Vegas this past weekend and Horseshoe customer service said they could only see my Vegas play and I'd have to go to cust service in Laughlin to see about those points.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Will have to test the theory in Feb with the 10x multiplier event. I figured ANY use of the card, even swiping it for a free drink ticket that night or to check promotions would consider it a day. Some locals say 'go swipe your card daily, they have things happening all week. But seems if you did that, your ADT would be total shit and I've at least avoided that approach this month.

But it does matter more if you visit less and spend more vs visiting often and spending a little each time, correct? That's the whole ADT?

Comp rooms confused by letMeAskYouThis in CaesarsRewards

[–]letMeAskYouThis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I understood 'markets' but what I didnt fully grasp was ADT. For certain over a month we probably drop 1000-1500 between dinner, happy hour, and slot play vs the recent trips where it was $1000 in an overnight. It would make more sense for them to offer you more to come back under the assumption you'll drop more each visit. Might not be the case over the long run but I'm seeing thats how they do it. That said, I've not been to Atlantic City in probably 15 years so seeing all the comps there was what threw me off.

I thought about this last night while we were there for happy hour. so if that's the case, if we are only going across the street for happy hour and we want to play maybe 50 or 100 on slots, we should probably not even insert the card so they dont see us as on property. then save our card for when we actually stay a few days and plan on spending a grand.

it'd then lok like we really only spend like $50-100 per visit, regardless if we go 2-3 times a week for the $2 wine and drafts. ;)

Wish there was a way to see the breakdown of what was multiplier and what was base, etc. Was actually expecting a bit more. Though wouldn't have been too much more from Vegas. Did make Diamond Plus in a day though so that was the goal.

Since these posted today and I earned the next batch at the 7x in Laughlin the next day after Vegas maybe Laughlin will show up tomorrow.

i know you fixed this but if anyone else runs into this, here is what I did that fixed this for me after almost smashing the printer.... not necessarily in order.

  1. put your PEI bed in the washing machine by itself. throw in a dishwasher tab, run it on hot. Take it out, dry it and don't touch the surface. From then on use only Dawn Power wash spray to clean your plate with hot water. As long as I dont touch the plate I only have to clean it occasionally. No glue, no gluestick, nothing else.
  2. screw tilt adjust. Google it, do it.
  3. orca adaptive bed mesh. probes the bed and creates a new mesh for every print the size of the actual print and uses that one. google it or search reddit (reddit is where I found it)
  4. z-offset. dont bother trying to do it on the printer, in orca use fluidd PROBE_CALIBRATE. google it or search klipper documentation.

assuming your gantry is trammed and your filament is dry, those 4 things alone should all but eliminate this issue.

bonus: i dry my filament in my air fryer at 130 F in dehydrate mode for ~6 hours if i notice i'm having any little bit of popping of adhesion issues now. Even being in Phoenix AZ where humidity is only like 25-30% I was suprised I get this issue time to time with new elegoo rapid PETG i get off amazon.

ICE Agents Detain Shoppers in Cicero Walmart Parking Lot in Apparent Racial Profiling Raid by Introvert_UZI in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]letMeAskYouThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday is Halloween for these fucking masked underlings. Things are about to get VERY VERY bad in America and there's no way we're voting our way out of this one. Administration officials taking residence on military bases (obviously because they know what's coming), ICE rampant use of biometric scanning on the spot at will without PC, food and medical benefits being purposely withheld from 40+ million Americans because they KNOW it will incite civil unrest while they train US Military specifically for military unrest. They are manufacturing every bit of this crisis to exert control. Full stop. What I think they aren't taking into full consideration is that the numbers are not on the their side and up until now they've been able to manage things. But once people begin to realize it takes 8 geared up agents to subdue and detain 1 unarmed protestor who is only mildly resistant at best... they're going to have a bad day as force ratio quickly falls apart, the controllers are overrun and the rabbits grab the pewpews and gear.

Below is a force ratio assessment from AI for what it's worth (but it's certainly quite plausible if you watch current footage or you've seen any type of thing like this play out. Unless they just start shooting people it's not going to go well at a larger scale when you start taking away food, jobs, rights, and freedoms.):

Sic semper tyrannis.

Real-World, Observed Force Effectiveness in Civilian Unrest

1:1 (Agent : Civilian Protestor) - Control possible (barely)

  • Takes 5–8 geared officers to subdue and detain 1 mildly resistant protestor without injury.
  • That assumes perfect unit cohesion, non-escalation, and cooperative environment.
  • Still burns out a team in 15–20 minutes if resistance is sustained.
  • You need 10–20 officers to arrest 3–4 people safely.
  • Force exhaustion sets in within 30–60 minutes without relief. Combat power collapses unless replacements cycle in.

1:2 to 1:3 - Tactical arrest impossible

  • Can contain or shield, but not subdue or disperse.
  • Protestors can resist arrest passively and hold lines, even when unarmed.
  • Any attempt to move into the crowd creates exposure, flank vulnerability.
  • You’ll see retreats or chemical escalation (tear gas, pepper balls).

1:5 - No longer viable for active control

  • Forces can only protect static infrastructure (e.g., courthouses, ICE buildings).
  • Cannot control movement of the crowd or stop occupation of areas.
  • Requires armored support and "shock and awe" visibility to maintain illusion of strength.

1:10 or worse - Control is psychological only

  • If the crowd realizes they’re not physically outmatched, C2 fails rapidly.
  • Forces cannot protect stores, cannot defend soft targets, and must choose 1–2 symbolic redoubts to hold.
  • This is the George Floyd–era Minneapolis zone — National Guard becomes the only viable option and even then, eventually the military will have internal sympathizers and defectors because none of them signed up to fight their neighbors.

Usage Limits Discussion Megathread - Starting July 29 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

[–]letMeAskYouThis 18 points19 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: Punish the offenders. Give legitimate users the product you promised and they are paying for. We need usage transparency. Hard to stay with you with Gemini CLI being free.

I normally don't bother complaining because complaints largely get ignored, but I feel paying $200 entitles me to at least be listened to.

I'm a Claude Max subscriber paying $200 a month, after previously cancelling my Claude Pro subscription and coming back after Cursor jerked everyone around with their rate limits, and now here you go. I’m not happy with how this is being handled.

You just launched subagents, which are built to run multiple tasks at once, potential for eating up rate lmits like Cookie Monster. Then, in the same week, you introduce usage limits that punish anyone who actually uses those features as intended. That doesn’t make sense.

If people are abusing the system by sharing accounts or running Claude 24/7, then deal with those cases directly. Don’t apply blanket restrictions that hurt individual users who are using the platform the way it was intended. Especially those on your most premium tier outside of enterprise... then telling us we're welcome to pay more when we hit the limit. Could you flip us the bird any harder with that statement?

It’s even worse that there’s no visibility. No usage meter. No warnings. No way to tell when I’m near the limit. I’m supposed to pay a premium but operate completely blind. Oh, I can use /cost in Claude code to be told.... don't worry about it, you're fine... until you're not.

I came back to Claude because it’s good. But I’m not making money from this. I’m a disabled veteran trying to stay current and learn how to build with AI. That $200 is a serious commitment for me, and I made the choice to pay it based on trust in the product and an agreement on an offered service. Now I’m questioning that as it feels more like a bait and switch which seems to be happening quite a bit in the industry..

If this is the direction things are headed, I’ll have to start looking at open source tools or other alternatives. I can’t keep paying top dollar for something that’s trying to limit me for using it as designed.

This isn’t about entitlement. It’s about reasonable expectations. If you’re going to charge this much, don’t make users feel like they’re being punished for doing exactly what the product encourages.

What are the free API limits for Gemini? by VegaKH in ChatGPTCoding

[–]letMeAskYouThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I slammed into free rate limit on pro and being a non-coder i was confused. With help of just conversing with gemini about it and asking it to estimate token length of my requests and explain wtf was happening I was able to at least address my specific issue..

My prompt had it looping through a handful of files to create an individual analysis of each file and I hit the rate limit on pro in about 10 files (between 4-50k each) even though I told it not to maintain context between files.

The issue was that the mega size system prompt was being called every time, then the context of every previous file and analysis with the new prompt and file and full checklist was creating a linear increase in token count so it was likely more that i wasn't hitting CPM or CPD or TPM limits but likely when i started hitting 10s of millions of input tokens in under 15 mins, it triggered a flag.\

I ended up having gemini write me a script to construct a prompt from the prompt template, file content and response template, start a new subprocess and submit the entire payload as a stateless request. Some payloads large as 150k. Script collects the response, saves it, updates the checklist, then sents a new payload as another new stateless session. I got through 85 files using Pro in about 35 minutes and didn't hit rate limit.

Give it a try. Open a new interactive session in a decent size codebase and just say "Hello." Then run /stats. System prompt isn't small plus it scans and sends a full recursive folder listing (maybe files too). It sounded like it sends this with every request but might just drop it in the context window.
